WANDA's POV

"Please, little baby. Go back to sleep," I beg my one week old daughter. Vision and I decided it was time we started a family, but I didn't quite factor in the part where he would hardly be involved in helping. Apparently work-related things are more important.

At least the other Avengers have been helpful. It's a good thing we remain living at the Compound for now.

"You were screaming all night, are you not exhausted? You don't wanna go for a nap for the sake of the woman who carried you for nine months and gave you life?"

In response, I get her spit-up on my t-shirt.

Great.

"Me and you are clearly gonna be the best of friends," I mutter sarcastically, causing her to cry even louder. "Oh, no. I was just kidding," I say, as if she can actually understand me. "You're fed, you don't need changing, you refuse to sleep. What else do you want?"

"Wanda?" my best friend's voice is heard from the doorway of the room. I turn around, baby in arms, and immediately the tears start rolling down my cheeks.

"Nat, thank god! Take," I tell her, and she quickly rushes over to take Y/N from me and cradle her.

"What's going on, Witchy? You look spent."

"I haven't slept for more than an hour at a time for a week, of course I'm spent!" I snap, Y/N's cries hurting my head.

I love that little girl so much already, but she is loud.

"I just wanna take a shower and go to sleep. I probably stink," I sigh, pinching the bridge of my nose between my thumb and forefinger.

"Well, I didn't wanna say anything but..." Nat smirks, and earns a scowl in response. "Sorry. Look, you go take a shower and get yourself cleaned, and I'll look after this little one for you."

Thank god for auntie Nat.

"You got her to sleep," I say in relief as I walk out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around my body and my hair dripping onto the floor.

"Auntie Nat has her ways," she smiles, sitting me down onto my bed and beginning to brush through my hair. "I know you're tired, so I'm gonna braid your hair for you, you're gonna get into some pajamas, and then you're gonna sleep for as long as you need whilst I take care of the detka. You have bottles in the mini fridge in here, yeah?"

Feeling incredibly grateful for Natasha, I nod and drop my tense shoulders as she starts braiding my hair. It's nice being taken care of after having to be taking care of someone else.

"I don't know what to do, Nat," I admit. "One book is telling me to do one thing and the other's saying to do something else and-"

"Then stop doing things by the book," she interrupts. "Wands, you're a mother now. That means you have mother's intuition, so follow that, not a few words on a page written by someone who's never met your kid before."

"I suppose you're right," I reply, trying my hardest not to burst into tears again.

"I always am."

Way to cover up the cockiness.
