Y/N's POV
My mama and I have always been best friends. Some people worry because they think she acts more like a friend than a mom, but that isn't true. She's both.
But for the past few days, we've been at each other's throats. The only person keeping us from actually killing each other is Natasha, mama's fiancé.
NATASHA's POV
I love my soon-to-be wife, and I also love her daughter. But those two have not stopped arguing with each other for three days in a row and it's all because Y/N came home an hour past curfew with no forewarning.
I've tried to explain to Wanda that as a teenager, her daughter is going to make mistakes. But she's stubborn, and really cares about Y/N and her whereabouts.
This morning, Wanda is currently sat on my lap whilst we snuggle on the couch. I made her breakfast this morning and that's filled her up so she's content.
But that changes the moment Y/N steps into the room. She must've only just woken up since she's still in her pajamas.
"Morning, Y/N," I greet her cheerfully. "How did you sleep, sweetheart?" I ask as this was her first night spent at my apartment. I'm moving in with her and Wanda soon, but I want to make the most out of this apartment. It's housed me for the past two years and it's home.
"Good. I'm beginning to think we should just move here, it's fancy and nice," she answers, "Nat, where are your coffee cups?"
"Cabinet just above you, babe," I reply whilst squeezing Wanda tighter. She's getting mad and I can tell.
It isn't long before she begins voicing her anger. "You're not having any caffeine this early," she tells Y/N, who retorts.
"Mom, it's coffee."
Y/N just stares at her blankly before grabbing a mug anyway and pouring some previously made (by me) coffee into it and taking a seat at the kitchen island.
I feel Wanda's breathing begin to pick up on account of her daughter pushing her buttons, so I whisper, "It's okay, it's just coffee. She hasn't done anything wrong."

I feel like I've been a barrier between my fiancé and my fiancé's kid all day. They're both spending the night again but Y/N wants to go out with her friends this evening.
And now they're having it out in my hallway.
Y/N is screaming at Wanda to let her go out and Wanda is not on board with that since Y/N is already grounded for missing curfew.
"Enough!" I finally yell, needing the constant yabbering to stop. "Y/N, stop making it worse by arguing with your mother. Wanda, let Y/N go out. She's fifteen - she's going to make mistakes."
Apparently, my opinion means nothing.
"I hate you so much!" Y/N screams at Wanda, who quickly retaliates.
"The feeling's mutual!" Wanda yells back. I pinch the bridge of my nose with my thumb and forefinger, expecting it to relieve this tension headache of mine.
"God, I wish you were dea-"
"No!" I cut her off before she can make the mistake of saying such harsh words. "Too far, Y/N."
After stopping her, I turn around to see Wanda close to tears, trying her hardest to prevent them from falling.
"You don't..." Wanda starts... "You don't really wish I was... dead. Do you?" she asks, moving closer to her kid, who regretfully shakes her head.
I know these two. They love each other more than anything. And it's evident.
Y/N instantly runs into her mama's arms, crying into her shoulder as she apologizes over and over.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I'm so sorry, I didn't mean it, I love you. I'm sorry."
"Shhh, baby, it's okay. You just got mad, it's okay."
Seeing them interact makes me think about my grief. The grief of never having a mother figure. Or, having one but her abandoning me. I'll never have that. But it warms my heart to see them interact the way they do.
