WANDA's POV

My daughter has always been one to stay up late and wake up early. She's an overworker so by her only getting around four or five hours of sleep a night, it ensures that she'll have maximum time to do schoolwork and such.

It's such a stupid rule of hers and I've tried to talk her out of it countless times, she just won't listen.

With it being exam week, it's gotten even worse. She studies until she goes to sleep at around two in the morning, wakes up at five or six for even more studying and then goes to school for whenever she has her exam, comes back and studies more.

Right now, she's just returned home from her english exam and she's already sat at the kitchen island, eyes glued to the page of a textbook.

"Honey?" I repeat for the third time in the past thirty seconds. She's paying so much attention to this textbook that she can't even hear me.

In order to get her to finally realize that I'm here, I gently place my hand on her shoulder, causing her to jump slightly.

"What do you want?" she asks me in a grumpy manner, keeping her focus solely on her revision.

"I think you should take a break, Y/N. There's not been a single time in the past few weeks where I haven't seen you not studying."

Instead of answering me, she simply shakes her head and continues doing her work.

Now that it's dinner time, I've just about managed to drag Y/N to the dining table with me to eat. Unfortunately though, her nose is still stuck in a book and she won't even look up at her food.

Right, this is too much now.

"Y/N, put that book down and eat your food, babe," I tell her in a slightly sterner tone than normal.

"Yeah, uh, in a minute," she mumbles, not bothering to make eye contact.

"No, now," I demand and reach my arm over to snatch the revision guide from her.

"Hey!"

"Don't 'hey' me. Get on with your dinner."

In response to my very strict tone, she flips me off and angrily stabs her fork into a bit of pasta.

All throughout the silent meal, I notice Y/N's eyes slowly closing and opening again. It's as if her body is trying to get her to sleep but she won't allow it.

As her mom, I can't let her just torture herself like this.

"Come on, you," I say as I stand up from my chair, walking over to hers and taking the fork out of her hand since she's not even eating.

"Mama, what-" she starts to ask but a big yawn cuts her off.

"Sweet girl, you're very tired. You need some rest so mama's gonna lay down with you for a little nap, okay?"

She shakes her head weakly, eyelids drooping as she does so.

I don't bother trying to haggle with her, I simply place my hand on her back and guide her upstairs to my room, knowing that hers is filled with too much revision for her to rest.

"Mom, I can't sleep right now. I have another exam tomorrow afternoon, I need to be studying," she tries to convince me but I know that there's no way in hell that she'll be able to function through that exam without getting some good sleep first.

Once I've got her laying down against my pillows and have pulled my blanket over her, I get in beside her and hold her close as her breathing starts to pick up.

"Shh, shh, everything's alright, baby," I coo, "You're doing so good already, Y/N. Just have a rest. You need it."

"Mama, stop, I need to go and-"

"No, sweetheart," I cut her off. "If it's so important then you'll remember and can do it tomorrow. Time for sleeping right now."

Instead of fighting me any more, Y/N simply pouts and makes some grumpy noises as she's getting comfortable against me.

Less than five minutes later, she's fast asleep.
