chapter 6 : Spaniards

Phil's pov
I brought the eagle home that was resting on my arm . As I arrived I opened the door where I saw my family worried about me . "Saan ka galing?! (Where did you go ?) " My dad said furiously , and he  ran up to me then he hugged me "I was at the beach" I told him the truth as he shook his head "you are free to go anywhere but ask permission from us first" he said with him and mom now noticing the Eagle "what are you doing with that eagle Phil ?" Mother said taking the eagle in her arms "his wing is injured" i pointed at the eagle's injured wing "I couldn't just leave him at the beach-" my father interrupted "I understand son , put him up the tree , there's a nest there . I think a bird abandoned the nest a long time ago . My father who understands the situation said "I bet he tastes good" my brother del the eldest one said "wonder if we put him in sinigang-" Marcial elbowed del at the rib "baliw , gusto mo talaga magkaroon ng pandemiya (crazy, you really want to have a pandemic)" Marcial snapped back before covering his mouth regretting what he said "anong Sabi mo ?" Father said "pandemiya ? ( Pandemic ?)" Mother scratched her head .

Pandemic . From that word itself I can remember the pandemic that was still present in the real world . Millions of people died because of a virus that came from China's country Wuhan-

The train of thoughts stopped with my brother Marcial calling my attention. "Phil" I flinched . "The eagle won't wait for the whole day" Marcial muttered. We went outside and Marcial carefully climbed the tree . And placed the eagle on the nest . I walked backwards for a better view of what was happening. The eagle seemed comfortable in its temporary home . Marcial climbed down "it seemed thirsty and hungry" Marcial spoke "I'll get the remaining meat from the chicken papa hunted the other day and maybe some water?" He ran inside the house and I watched the eagle.

My thoughts drifted to Marcial of what he said a while back .

"Yes there will be different days but it's still the same."

How does he know that there was going to be a pandemic in the future ? I mean last night he said that he can travel to the future but just for a while ...Maybe he's referring to a different pandemic.

Marcial came back raw chicken's meat and water that was on a coconut shell "hold this" he said handing the coconut shell that had water . I got it and he started to climb the mango tree and gave the eagle the meat . The eagle immediately , aggressively pulled the meat out of Marcial's hand and started to chomp on it ... Marcial climb down and when he did he was about to take the coconut shell that was filled with water . "No" I said and which painted a confused face on Marcial "I'll do it" I added as I started climbing the tree which he let me .

As I climbed higher and higher I reached the highest branch. Where I saw the eagle looking at me and it look like it was smiling at me "hi" I spoke and left the coconut shell that had water on the huge nest . I gasped how high I climb . I was terrified at first but then I saw the view that made me think for a sec of what I've been Wishing and wanting even I was praying for it . I was wanting to Die , do I really want to ? In a deep sleep not being to see the world ever again and my beloved people . I saw everything up there the beautiful village we live in , the sunshine that gave light , the leaves that danced on the green trees. Was I willing to give this all up . I looked at the eagle that was looking at me "what are you looking at ?" I said as I asked permission to touch him and he let me .

"What am I gonna call you huh ? " I said running my fingers on the eagle's soft feathers. I thought for a minute and I thought of agila which in my language means eagle but I like the name and agila is an eagle anyway so why not ? "Agila ,do you like that name ?" I said as agila made I noise . Ok , I'll take that as a yes ... "See you around I guess" I climbed down the tree and i met Marcial who was waiting for me like forever. "What took you do long ?" He protests "I was taking to agila and yeah I don't know what's wrong with me now , you probably think that I'm now lunatic" I said expecting him to say something negative but no .
