On Saturday, Dad gives me a sheet of paper with all the dates and times that the Spy Skills classes are taking place:
KARATE: Saturdays, 11am to 1pm, Karate Room
COMPUTERS AND TECHNOLOGY: Sundays, 1:30pm to 3:30pm, Room 4B
OBSERVATION AND BODY LANGUAGE: Tuesdays, 3:45pm to 5:00pm, Room 4B
LOCKS AND CODES: Thursdays, 3:45pm to 5:00pm, Room 4B
ENHANCED FRENCH: Fridays, 3:45pm to 4:45pm, Room 4B
Maddie and I continue taking our karate classes at the karate room at 11 in the morning, and Katrina, our karate instructor, tells us that we're almost ready for the yellow belt. Our test to pass to the next belt level is coming up soon.
Sunday, I have to take those Computers and Technology classes at the agency, with Maddie. Mom drops me off at the agency. I walk into the building, pass the front desk, and pull out my ID card from my purse.
I unlock the locked door in front of me with my ID card, continue walking down the hall and pass the fake 'mechanical' room (that is a story for later), and reach the main atrium of the building. I climb several flights of stairs to get to the fourth floor, which is very tiring because I've been running up the stairs.
I take a brief break, then I head down the hall and search for room 4B. It's the first room on my right. I knock on the door, and open it.
Whoa, the room is huge! One corner of the room is devoted to all sorts of computers, another corner's reserved for all sorts of locks, the third corner has a few tables, chairs, and two whiteboards, and the fourth corner has sofas and a TV.
Maddie and Katrina are in the corner with all the computers. I go over and join them. Maddie's hair is tied up in a short ponytail, while Katrina's hair is in a braid.
"Hey Stef!" Katrina and Maddie say in unison.
"Hey!" I reply.
"Stef, give me your purse, I'll put it in the wardrobe," says Katrina, motioning to a tall, brown wardrobe. "It's very secure, don't worry." I take off my purse, put my phone and ID card in my pockets, and hand my purse to Katrina, who puts it in the wardrobe, and locks the wardrobe with a huge, rather complicated combo lock.
"Let's start!" exclaims Katrina. "So welcome to your first Computers and Technology class. Most of the time during each class, you two will be spending it working with computers, and a small fraction of the time will be me explaining how computers work. Got any questions?"
"How long are we taking this Spy Skills course for?" I ask. I really want to know what day this course will be over. And then I'll be having a PARTAAAAAY! Oh wait, I only just started this course.
"Probably for a few months," shrugs Katrina.
"WHAT?!" Maddie and I exclaim in unison.
"A few months?!" I say. "A few months?! A few months passes by at the speed of a snail! Or a turtle! Or whatever other slow animal there is on this planet!" Seriously. A few months passes by really slowly.
"Yeah!" exclaims Maddie. "I wanna get this over with!"
"Well, the more you two talk, the longer you'll be taking this course for," sighs Katrina. "Let's start. First of all, can you tell me what a computer is?"
"It's a machine where you play games on it!" exclaims Maddie, looking like she wants to jump up and down excitedly.
"And do your homework!" I add eagerly.
"And watch videos!"
"And do your homework!"
"And get the latest news!"
