Emma Grayson's life seemed like it would be easy, she got straight A's, she had beautiful straight hair, she was honest and straightforward, her path in life was straight too, her plan was to get into an ivy league school, become a nurse, raise a family. But her sophomore year she made a mistake, a HUGE mistake, one that caused all of that to come tumbling down.
That mistake cost her all her friends, she had to quit volleyball because the girls chastised her, it caused a rift between her and her dad, she started to overthink her every move because she was paranoid about what people thought of her.
"What's the mistake?" you ask, to put it down easily people found out she was a lesbian, that she herself was not straight. Not only that but the girl who was the reason everyone found out she was gay spread rumors that Emma had forced herself onto her. The girl turned Emma into a monster, a predator, a corrupted sinner. The people she had expected to stay with her didn't hesitate to end their friendship and completely ditch her. Everyone left her but the people she herself had once ditched for volleyball, two heavenly kind theater kids.
Emma was prepared for a junior year full of sitting alone in the bathroom during lunch, sitting in the back of the class, and not looking a single girl in the eye. However, this changed when one of her only friends, Ashlyn convinced her to go to a summer camp with her, and at the camp she made a new friend, Nini Salazar-Roberts.
