"Hello, my little princesses."

I smiled and peered through the doors to the nursery.

Loki was leaning over the girls' crib, lightly stroking their cheeks.

"Is it selfish of me to hope neither of them actually become queen?"

Loki turned to look at me, "Depends on your reasons."

"I love Thor and Odin, they are both strong men and amazing kings, but I can see the effects ruling a kingdom has on them. Their burden is not something I envy."

He gave me a small smile, "There was once a time when I thought I did."

"Now?"

"Now, I've discovered that I'm content with having a wife who worships at my feet. I don't need a whole country."

I lightly slapped him, "You can be such a narcissis sometimes."

"But you still love me."

I frowned at him, but his smirking lips were too much too resist and, shaking my head, I wrapped my arms around his neck.

Right before our lips met, a knock came from the door.

Loki groaned, "I'll get it." He said.

I smiled at his annoyance and moved over to greet Aine and Caoimhe.

I heard the door open, and then Thor's voice resonated through the room.

"There's something I think you and Jaxon need to see."

Loki and I followed Thor through the dark hallways that lead to the cells. I could tell he was leading us to Sigyn's cell.

When we arrived, the cell was surrounded by people. All guards, dressed in their heavy Asgardian armor.

Holding tight to Loki's hand, I nervously made my way to the front of the crowd.

Immediately, I saw what they were all gathered around. Right in the middle of their circle lay Sigyn, her body twisted at an unnatural angle.

I froze in my tracks. "What happened?"

"She attempted to escape when I delivered her supper this evening," one of the guards began to explain. "She somehow managed to swipe a knife from me earlier in the day and when she tried to use it on me, I had no choice but to defend myself. I'm sorry miss."

I nodded, oddly calm. I wasn't sad Sigyn was dead, after all the reason she was held captive was because she had tried to kill me and my daughters. It just felt....weird. After all the trouble she had caused us, she was gone. It will probably take a while to get used to not constantly being threatened.

Loki squeezed my hand, "You okay?"

I nodded again, "Ya." My voice came out breathy and relieved. It was over.

When the news of Sigyn's death was released to the public, the city was grateful the threat to the royal family was gone but many were also sad. Some had known Sigyn growing up and apparently, she wasn't always trying to kill romantic rivals.

"It seems almost anti-climatic, doesn't it?"

Loki nodded from his place beside me on the couch, his arm wrapped around my waist. "Yes, it does. But I am extremely grateful she's dead, I'll be able to sleep better at night now, knowing the threat is gone."

I gave a small, sad smile in understanding and turned back to the television. I was done talking about Sigyn's death, about death in general.

Well, maybe not all death. Fictional death didn't seem so bad, at least then it wasn't real, I thought as Supernatural came back from the commercial break. It was actually nice when it was an evil ghost or a cannibal clown.

"That guy is a pain in the ass."

I laughed, "Luci? I love him!"

Loki looked at me in shock, "You nicknamed the devil? No wonder you like me, you're certifiably insane!"

I snorted, "And what does that say about you? You're the one who married a crazy woman."

His eyes grazed my body, "It shows that I am too weak to resist a woman's curvy body, and can live in complete ignorance of her mental state."

I scrunched my nose at him, "Thank you...I think there was a compliment in there somewhere."

He smirked. "Of course, love." He said before grabbing my hips and pulling me so I was straddling his lap.

I clenched my hands against his shoulders, and smiled when his lips brushed mine.

Now, without Sigyn trying to kill us, we were finally free. We could move on. Truly be happy and comfortable in our own home.
