Pepper and I started when an over six foot tall pissed off god came charging through the door.
"Loki, what's wrong?"
Loki stopped his violent stride and spun to look at me. "Pack up your stuff. We're leaving in the morning." He continued on.
"Loki." I said. When he didn't pause, I grabbed his arm.
"What did Sigyn say?"
He shook his head, then sighed, "She told them."
My brows furrowed, "Told them what?" as soon as I asked the question, I noticed the look on his face and knew exactly what he was talking about.
"Oh."
He nodded. "Yup, so we need to leave."
I could feel Pepper curious eyes on me, "What am I missing?"
"Um-" I started, only to be cut of as Tony, Bruce, and Natasha stormed into the room, lead by a furious Clint.
As soon as his eyes locked into mine, Clint made a beeline for me.
Loki immediately stepped in front of me, using his greater height as a method of intimidation. "Back away." He ordered, in the scary/sexy voice he had.
Clint refused to be cowered, "Why should I? You burrowed yourself into my mind and made me your personal slave. Who's to say you're not doing the same to her?"
I stepped out from behind Loki, "I'm here of my own free will. I'm with Loki because I choose to be, not because of some spell or compulsion."
Clint faced me, his expression nasty, "If that's true, then what kind of person does that make you? What kind of woman would willingly stay with him and have his kids? Do you not know what he's done or are you completely fine with bringing more psychopathic wack jobs into this world?" He jabbed a finger towards the twins, who were currently staring up at us from their cribs with wide, bright eyes.
Everybody in the room stiffened at that, it was one thing to insult me or Loki, but a completely different thing to verbally attack the twins. Everyone had grown quite fond of them, and with that fondness came protectiveness.
Before anyone else had that chance to make a move, a loud slapping sound filled the air.
Everybody stared in shock at the red handprint on Clint's face and then at my hand, which stung from the force of my blow. "Do not insult my children. I don't care what you say about me, but never go after them again."
Clint glared down at me. Natasha walked up to him and pulled his arm, "Let's go." She said in a tone that broke no argument. She sent me a contrite smile and proceeded to drag Clint out of the room so he could cool off.
"What did I miss?" Pepper asked again, still looking completely lost in the corner.
Tony spoke up, "Jaxon and Loki are married. The twins are their children. It's all been a big conspiracy to fool us."
Loki rolled his eyes at Tony while Pepper looked between the three of us in shock.
"You two..wow." She breathed.
Tony laughed. "Yup, took us all by surprise."
Pepper glanced up at him suspiciously. "You knew." It was a statement, not a question.
Tony shrugged, "Maybe."
She rolled her eyes.
Bruce walked up to me and picked up my hand. He turned it over so it was palm up. Examining it, he said, "I have some cream you can use to cool the sting."
