"Where'd Mommy go?"
I moved my hands from in front of my face, "Here I am!"
The babies below me giggled.
Aine and Caoimhe were nestled in a thick blanket laying on the floor of our living space and I was kneeling next to them.
I covered my eyes again, "Where did I go?"
I could hear the little noises the girls were making, and I uncovered my eyes, "Here I am!" I repeated.
They broke out into a fit of adorable giggles again.
"Did you miss me?" I leaned down and lightly scratched their bellies.
"I sure did." I looked to the door of our bedroom, where Loki stood in the doorway. My eyes took him in. His hair was still wet from a recent shower, droplets falling to his bare shoulders, he was only wearing a pair of jeans and a small smile.
I returned his smile with one of my own, "I missed you too."
He grabbed a sweatshirt from the back of the couch. He zipped it up halfway, leaving a large, delicious v-shaped space of skin showing, and then sat down beside me.
"Hello little loves." he murmured to Aine and Caoimhe.
They cooed back. Despite the time spent separated from their father, they both still recognized Loki.
He gently lifted up Aine, who was closest to him, and blew raspberries on her stomach.
Her high-pitched giggle rent the air and her hands reached down to pull at his hair.
I laughed and picked up Caoimhe, cradling her to my chest.
The main door opened, and Thor strode into the room. It was obvious something was wrong, his hair was mussed, his eyes bright and and cheeks flushed.
"What's wrong?" Loki asked, his face changing from the carefree, happy expression he had on a second ago into a worried scowl.
"It's Bruce."
Loki stiffened, the tautness his body could rival the hardness of a diamond. Standing up, he pulled me up with him and pushed Aine, Caoimhe, and I into the bedroom the girls slept in last night. He gently set Aine in the cradle before taking Caoimhe from me and doing the same.
"Loki, what is going on?"
He grasped my face in his hands, "I need you to stay here. Don't leave this room unless Thor or I says so."
"What is going on? You're scaring me."
"I know. And I'm sorry, but there's no time to explain right now. I need you to promise me to stay in this room with the girls." His eyes pleading with me to agree.
I nodded, and with a quick, passionate kiss, he left the room, slapping some spot on the wall as he went.
I heard a swoosh followed by a loud thump of slabs of something heavy locking together. I knew for a fact it was Loki's doing. He had locked us in.
I forced myself to breathe deeply, trying to calm my nerves. I had no clue what was happening, but I knew it was bad. I walked over to the untouched bed placed in the middle of the room, sat down and pulled the crib over.
"It will be okay, everything will be okay." I murmured this over and over, like a mantra, trying to convince myself it was true.
That was when the crashes began.

"How did it happen?" Loki rushed down the hallway with Thor.
"A beaker broke, sliced open Banner's hand. Cut him deeply."
Loki cursed, but was grateful he was able to get his family to safety. He reminded himself to thank Stark later for telling him what the third room in their quarters was.
After Loki's attack on the tower and realizing just how weak Stark Tower was, Tony had built shelters all throughout the house. With the push of a hidden button, huge slabs of titanium covered concrete wrapped the whole way around the room, locking tightly together where they met.
As the made their way towards the lab, Loki felt his skin tingle. He smiled, letting his magic continue to gather under his skin.
Loud crashing sounds came from the lab, followed by a booming roar. Thor and Loki quickened their pace.
The lab was utter chaos, broken glass laid all over the floor, tables cracked in half, and papers littering the space. All this wasn't what caught their eyes though. What caught their eyes was the giant green creature standing in the middle of the room, huge chest heaving and one big hand holding Tony. When that large head swiveled towards them, Loki didn't allow himself give into his fear.
The Hulk dropped Tony, who fell to the floor, unconscious, before making it's way towards them.
Thor raised his hammer, whipped it in circles, and chucked it at the angry green giant. The creature groaned as the hammer hit him in the chest, sending him flying backwards. When he crashed to the ground, the weight of the hammer leaving him unable to move. Loki released his magic and aimed it at Banner, the green-gold light wrapping itself around his neck, aiding the hammer.
The Hulk struggled, growling even louder when Steve, Nastasha, and Clint all entered the room, looking ready for battle.
"Banner, come back to us," It was Steve who spoke, his voice gentle but firm, trying to coerce Bruce.
The Hulk snared, his body whipping around under the magic and the hammer holding him down.
"Bruce," Steve tried again, "come back to us."

End of Chapter 13
Sorry for the wait, but I have been busy. I had tests and I couldn't think of what to write. Thankfully, I have five more days off for Thanksgiving, so maybe I can get another chapter or two in. No promises though, I have a ton of essays due for AP psych the day I get back and I have a huge test in Honors Spanish III that day too. But, no matter how long it takes me, I do not plan on stopping this fanfiction, I plan on completely finishing.
As always, thank you so much for reading and I hope you liked it!
