His shoes splashed against the mud every millisecond, the rain drenching his fur and quills in cold water. Oh, how he hated that nightmare liquid. He should've been honest, he was being a bit over reactive. Sure, the person he called brother and the one person he genuinely wanted to hang out with just told him he hated him, but, no big deal. Right? In the distance, he saw the small only cottage that lay in the Mystic Ruins. He approached the door, not wanting to twist the handle, but having no other choice did. He expected a sidekick, watching tv, but didn't find one. Instead, the house was sparkling clean, and the dishes from this morning and days before were tidily put away. The lights were off, and he heard slight ruckus from the upper level. Curious, he walked upstairs to see Tails' room door cracked open, and a small glow coming from inside.

"N-no Amy, I hurt his feelings. You - you shouldn't be taking it so lightly."

Sonic peeked through the door, watching Amy say a couple of last things, and Tails ending the call. His ears were pinned to his skull, his eyes red and puffy, paired with tear-stained cheeks. He saw Tails lay back down, and shove his face into his pillow. Small sobs were heard. Tails seemed genuinely sorry... could he be? He heard Tails mumble something under his breath, that made Sonic's heart stop.

"I'm a freakish mutant two-tailed idiot.
And Sonic should think the same."

Sonic didn't expect that. But he wanted to see what would happen. So he walked into Tails' room, as fox ears swirled around, hearing the light footsteps. Tails' head turned around to see Sonic.

Sonic...

I'm sorry.

But...

The blade may not seem like a good explanation...

But it's the one only solution.

Tails... you're not gonna do what I think you're gonna do...
