It was the day. The day he could open his eyes. To see if the surgery actually worked.
The year of a surgery.
"Three, two, one.." the blue blur said.
He took the mask off.
Tails' mouth lay agape. "I-I can see..."
A scar lined his eye, but other than that it was the two tailed genius he knew.
Sonic tackled him into a hug, laughing. "I'm glad, buddy." His eyes watered with tears. Happy ones.

The doctor dropped a liquid into my eyes, I hissed.
"It's okay." Sonic held my hand.
"I can tell." Sonic snickered.
"Done." The doctor said. "See, it wasn't that bad." I rolled my eyes.

Tails smiled. "I love 'ya, Sonic." He said.
"I'm not sure I can say the same..."
WHAT!?
"Whaddya... whaddya mean??"
"I'm still mad at you."
AFTER ALL OF THIS?
He knew it.
"O-Oh..."
Sonic started laughing.
"OH CHAOS, YOU SHOULD'VE SEEN YOUR FACE!" He kept laughing, wiping a tear.
Seriously? He rolled his eyes. "Okay, okay, you can stop laughing now."
He stopped after a minute or so. "Alright, alright. C'mere buddy."
They lay in a hug. Happy. Warm.
