[JACOB & (Y/N), SHADY GROVE, JUNE 26TH 10:47AM - (Y/N)]

''Watch your step.''

Jacob called out, grabbing your hand as he helped you down the steep, but small cliff. You had decided to take Jacob's offer and explore the forest with him. You thanked him quietly, both of you walking side by side and sidestepping a particularly big spider you were going to walk into.

''So, have you made friends with any of the counselors yet?''

Jacob asked, kicking a pebble he seemed to have taken interest in.

''Uh, I don't think so. I don't know if I could call myself Kaitlyn or Nick's friend, but we're on good terms. I haven't really spoken to the others that much yet, I'm kind of nervous. I don't know if they'll like me, or if I'll embarrass myself.''

You explained, and your expression turned a little downcast. Jacob noticed, nudging your shoulder with a reassuring smile.

"Dude, don't even worry about it. You're really cool, and I'm sure they'd like you. Actually, I'm not that close with Dylan or Ryan yet, but you have a lot of similarities with the both of them. Dylan's got the same sense of humor as you, and you're shy like Ryan. They're already pretty close, but I heard that Dylan was actually pretty interested in meeting you. Even if you embarrass yourself, you still got two months to make up for it. I say, go for it. If you can't do it, at least you tried."

Jacob encouraged, and you felt comforted that you had someone you could confide in this summer. You weren't the type to complain about personal feelings, but it still felt good knowing there was someone willing to listen.

You both continued walking, basking in the comforting silence of the forest. You were unsure what time it was, but Mr. H wouldn't get too mad.. Right?

You both came across a log, big enough to fit the both of you. You both sat, looking over at the beautiful ocean that sat in front of you. You looked over to the boy sitting next to you, but embarrassingly enough, he was already looking at you.

''You're actually nicer than I thought.''

You suddenly said, catching him by surprise. He let out a laugh, eyeing you from the corner of his eye.

''You're such a charmer. But, I could say the same for you. I was worried you'd get annoyed, since I tend to be a little, uh, loud.''

He said, catching you by surprise. I guess you are both more alike then you initially thought.
