[(NAME), TWINS, MR. HACKETT'S OFFICE.]
''I WAS SEARCHING FOR MR. HACKETT.''
PATH CHOSEN
You watched them look at each other, before looking at you with a disappointed glint in their eyes. She sneered, her lips plump and full. She looked down at you, almost mockingly. As if you were a speck of dust in her way, something she'd have no issue getting rid of. ''Don't you know what day it is today? Are you dumb?''
She spoke, giggling as if it was common sense. Being around those two, at this time, was screaming danger. Sure, they were attractive, but something was wrong. You couldn't tell what it was, their posture? Their eyes? Or their smile? Something seemed uncanny. Unreal, and dangerous. You desperately wanted to get out of this place immediately, wishing you had just chosen to go to bed. You felt your heart pounding in your chest as you inched towards the door leading to Mr. Hackett's office. ''What do you mean by that? It's just a normal day at camp.. Right?''
The boy let go of your arm, sighing in understanding. He turned towards his sister, glancing at you before they began whispering together. You slowly started reaching for the handle, but immediately stopped when they shot you a frown.
They turned towards you, with a stern yet somewhat playful expressions on their faces. The girl snickered and you felt like you were imposing. You already knew you were in trouble, you had no excuse for being in Mr. Hackett's office, and you had a feeling that they knew they knew that too.
"Who are you?" the taller twin demanded, his voice cold.
''A counselor.. at Hackett's Quarry. Your, uh, father, is my boss.''
They hesitated, unsure of how to respond. But before you could plead your case, the boy spoke again.
"You're not one of us," he said. "What are you doing here? You are supposed to be away. He told us you'd be at a campfire."
You knew you had to come up with something fast, but you were blanking. This was already a bad situation, and you had gotten caught. How can you explain you broke into your bosses office for a good reason? You tried to act casual, as if you had every right to be there.
"Oh, I was just looking for Mr. H," you said, trying to sound nonchalant.
They do not believe you.
Your honesty has slightly depleted. Now 1.5 / 10
The girl didn't buy it, but it looked like the previously intimidating boy was too tired to put up a fight against your reason, and shrugged. The girl stepped closer, her eyes narrowing.
