[THE COUNSELORS, AROUND THE FIREPIT, 24TH OF JUNE 8:17PM]

''I've been waiting forever!''

PATH CHOSEN

Emma groaned, kicking the dirt. The remaining counselors had been waiting for  Nick and Abi, since they seemed to be taking a real long time in the forest. Not long enough to panic, but definitely long enough to start getting pissed.

Dylan sat himself next to Kaitlyn and (Name), gaining a smile from the two. Dylan couldn't help but pat his cheeks softly, trying to prevent them from reddening. He felt embarrassed, that just a smile could break him. At how easily he fell for you, considering you hadn't spoken a lot so far this summer. He glanced sideways, admiring your face for a second. You were just so beautiful to him, and he sighed, trying not to get upset.

''Hey, Dylan. Just noticed this, but, what happened to your cheek? You're bleeding.''

(Name) piped up, making Ryan and Dylan glance at each other. They weren't too sure if they should tell the others about the run-in they had with the guy from the woods, so they kept quiet.

''Oh, uh.. It's nothing. Don't worry about it, It's just a scratch. Not like it's gonna attract any wild beasts or anything.''

PATH UPDATED

They were all sitting around the campfire, roasting marshmallows and listening to Ryan's dumb ghost stories. Suddenly, Kaitlyn looked at her watch and exclaimed, "It's been almost 20 minutes since Nick and Abigail went to get wood. What are they doing out there?"

Jacob smirked mischievously, nudged Kaitlyn by the shoulder and said, "I bet they're fucking behind a tree or something. I'll bet you ten bucks."

Kaitlyn raised an eyebrow and said, "You're on. They're like saints, no kissing before marriage."

The group continued to wait, growing increasingly impatient. Finally, they heard footsteps approaching, and Nick and Abigail emerged from the woods, arms full of firewood.

Kaitlyn and Jacob both rushed over to them, eager to find out if their bet had paid off. "So, did you two kiss? Do any dirty acts?" Kaitlyn asked, barely able to contain her excitement.

Nick and Abigail looked at each other, clearly embarrassed, and laughed nervously. "No, we were just arguing about whether to close or leave open this hatch we found in the woods," Abigail said, still nervously chuckling.

The rest of the group groaned, disappointed that their friends' absence had been so mundane. But then, as they started to resume their marshmallow roasting, they noticed something odd.
