November
Ellianna
•
On Friday October 30th the north view golden eagles won their first away football game, which meant today, Monday November second I had to eat lunch with Shane and the gang. I was anxious about it, Besides Matt and Shane I wasn't really friends with anyone who sat at that table anymore."Its gonna be fine Ellianna, we used to be friends with them all. you don't need to be nervous." easy for miranda to say she wasn't excommunicated in eighth grade. "I have a right to be nervous mer." Miranda rolled her eyes. "no you don't their all your friends." we approached the table, and just like he promised Shane saved me a seat next to him, and Miranda a seat next to me. we took our seats across from Ryder, his girlfriend Maddie her best friend Julia and of course Miranda was across from her brother Matt. "Welcome back to the cool kids table Mer." her brother teased, but today Miranda didn't mind at all she was just happy to be with her old friends.
"Glad you could make it Elli." Shane told me with a soft smile, I had told him this morning how I was not looking forward to lunch with all my old friends and he had assured me it was all going to be okay. but that was easy for him to say, Shane was so confident and outgoing, im pretty sure he never felt anxiety about anything. "Ive heard so much about you its so great you finally deicded to sit with us!" The perky brunette across from me said, She was Julia Atkins, the only person currently at this lunch table that wasn't in our friend group in elementary school. She was Maddie Clarkes best friend, a fellow cheerleader and practically perfect. With her silky smooth ponytail and sparking green eyes, not to mention the ever present cheerful dispositon she possessed. I couldn't discern if she was truly as sweet as she seemed or just as fake as her cheerleading teammates, Like her current best friend Maddie was.
I figured for now I would be civil with her. "Yeah, nice to meet you." I told her. " I can't believe you couldn't come to the game on Friday, it was insane." I wished now that I had gone, it was all anyone at this school could talk about and besides if I had gone to the game I wouldn't be here. "Elli, it really was insane, but your coming this week right?" Shane asked, I was about to respond before Miranda cut in. "She is absolutely going to the game, even if I have to drag her myself, are you kidding if you can win this game then North View goes to the playoffs for the first time in a decade, I am not going to let Ellianna miss this monumental event." Everyone at the table laughed with the exception of Maddie who had the worlds worst case of rrbf.
"Jesus Mer, we haven't won the game yet." Matt told her sarcastically. "but were going to win, there is no way in hell were losing this game." Ryder butted in, which I thought was Kinda funny considering he got the least amount of playing time out of everybody at the table. sometimes I couldn't help but to roll my eyes. "I sure hope so, id love to make a playoff run." Shane grabbed the apple of of his lunch tray and took a bite. "and for senior year, that'd be live, especially after only winning one game my freshman year." It was crazy how much this team had transformed this year, last year we had won a couple games but there was never any kind of talk about going to the play offs.
"Damn i forgot how bad yall sucked back then." Colin slyly stated granting himself glares from Matt and Shane and laugh from Miranda who then also got the glares.
"It dosenet matter, we dont suck anymore and win or lose im throwing the biggest party of the year after the game friday." Maddie Clarke finally decided to speak. It was hard for me to belive there was a time we were ever friends but in middle school we were. Back then she liked to gossip and be in drama but she didnt act like she was above it all like she does now. After my assualt she was one of the first to make the situation at school worse than it could already posibly be spearding and perpstuating the rumors with the other girls at school, which was argubally worse than the boys talking about me.
But if i was here trying new things and sitting at lunch with everyone maybe it was time to bury the hattchet. "That sounds great Maddie id love to go." I said with a sweet smile. She looked me up and down and glared. It was like she was giving me a warning with her eyes. "I guess you can come just dont cause any drama." She told me obvioysly taking a jab at me regarding what happened in 8th grade. Everyone at the table looked towards me and then Maddie who was diagnol from me. It was like everyone was waiting to see how I would respond. I had two choices let it pass or finally stick up for myself.
"Well then maybe I shouldnt be here, since i just cause drama wherever i go." I picked up my backpack and left Miranda right behind me. I couldve spoken back to Maddie, caused a scence but i decided it wasnt worth it. I was gonna be the bigger person even if it meant eating alone.
"Dont listen to her Ellianna, shes always been like that wanting to stir the pot." Miranda had followed me into the hallway, i felt bad i know how bad she had wanted this to work out, Mer wasnt like me, she needed people around her. She liked having lots of friends.
"It dosent matter, i knew things wouldnt change." i was pissed i went on a limb and i sat with them and it totally backfired. "Things do Change Ellianna, everyone else was so glad you sat with us." Just then we heard commotion coming from your cafeteria. "What the fuck?" Mer and i both turned around snd re entered the cafeteria, shit was going down.
