I watched as Ellianna stormed out of the cafeteria, I was livid, I told everyone at the table to be nice before lunch today. Maddie wasnt thrilled about Elli sitting with us but i didnt think she would act like this."Your such a bitch for that." I turned to Maddie. Ryder imedsitly got tense. "Bro dont call my girlfriend a bitch." I shrugged. "Im only calling her what she is, I told everyone to be chill so the fact your girl couldnt keep her shit together pisses me off." Maddie rolled her eyes, her bad additue slowly rubbing off on me. "Please I was only speaking the truth, Ellianna isnt one of us anymore." I was about to speak when Colin burst out.
"Ellianna was always one of us, she was our friend before she was yours, if anything Maddie, your the one who is nothing like us." I looked over at Colin shocked, there was nothing that told me he would take Ellis side, at all. But maybe this was a sign Colin was ready to be mature and put everything that happened in 8th grade behind him. "Thats bull shit and you know it." Maddie shot back crossing her arms over her chest. Now matt spoke up. "If you dont like it shy dont you sit somewhere else?" He spoke in a no nonsense tone, Matt meant business he wasnt playing. "Thats ridiculous, were teamates, were practically brothers." Ryder told him, and I knew that was true, Colin, Matt and Ryder were close, I really couldnt belive Matt wouldnt take ryders side.
"Yeah but ive known Elli since she was 5, shes my sister and I stand up for my family." We all looked at Matt and then back at Ryder and Maddie. Matt was the captin a leader what ever he said went, i wanted to be like that some day. "Fuck all of you, your all fake as fuck, just because Shane becomes friends will that lying bitch dosen't mean the rest of you have to agree with him, your all fucking sheep." Ryder stood up enraged, in a way I couldn't blame him but at the same time it was really nice to sit back and glare at him with a smug look while Colin bitched him out.
"She isn't the liar Ryder I was the fucking liar, I was the dickwad, you were too we all were so if you don't want to apologize too her that's fine you and your bitch can fuck off." by this point the entire cafeteria was dead silent all eyes were on our section of brown rectangle table. "Then fine we'll leave because I'm not apologizing to a lying bitch." Ryder and Maddie stood up and haughtily walked away I watched as they took a seat at Karlies table angrily explaining what just went down, I just rolled my eyes I didn't want them around anyway if they were gonna act like that. We all just kind of started at each other seeing who was gonna speak next. Julia gave a half hearted smile. "Well I guess no party for us this weekend." she laughed nervously. She meant well but none of us were up for jokes at the moment.
"Im gonna check on the girls." I whispered to the few people left at our table. Colin stood up beside me. "Im coming too." He told me. We started to walk outside the cafeteria every eye on us. "You dont have to come if you dont want too." I was a bit irritated Colin was following me out, just a week ago he was against standing up for Ellianna a stance he had held for years. I wasnt nessicerally un happy with the shift it was just sudden and kind of rubbed me the wrong way.
"No I want too." he told me almost a little pissed off. When we entered the hallway we quickly saw Elli and Miranda chatting off to the side. I internally let out a sigh if releif when I saw she was wasnt overtly upset.
"Hey." I said calmly approaching them Colin on my heels.
"I'm sorry this happened Shane, I knew me eating at your table was a bad idea." She was a little flustered, Miranda rolled her eyes. "Dont be sorry Ellianna, Ryder is a dick and Maddie is a bitch. I'm glad their gone from our table." Colin said nonchalantly shrugging his shoulders, I don't know why he cared so much all of the sudden. "But you and Ryder have been friends for so long." Elli tried to justify, Colin shrugged of that comment too.
"We were only friends because we both play football and baseball, he was my competition on the football field and I don't have to talk to him much on the baseball field, who cares." I was surprised that Colin was so willing to write off his friendship with Ryder in order to start up one with Ellianna again, I wondered if he had anterior motives, but then again was Colin smart enough to have anterior motives?
"Listen Ellianna the only shitty thing to come out of this situation is that we're not gonna be able to go to Maddie's party Friday." Miranda chimed in, I rolled my eyes I could give a shit about some party.
"Who said we still can't go to Maddies party Mer?" Colin said smirking. I locked eyes with Elli she looked less than happy at this proposal.
"Do you really think that's a good idea Colin?" I asked trying to be some sort of voice of reason. I awaited Colins response but it was Miranda who butted in.
"It's a great idea, she wants to be a bitch at our lunch table then well crash her stupid party." you could tell Miranda was happy to be back with her old group of friends, already claiming the lunch she sat at for one day as her own.
I didn't quite know how I felt about Miranda yet, she was loud, outspoken and lacked manners. Her brother Matt was loud too but he still held this air of leadership and had a handle on things. Miranda on the other hand just seemed a little more wild. But I guess when you come from a family of seven you have to be loud in order to be heard.
I just still didn't understand how her and Elli we're friends when they were so different. Now looking at them side by side that was abundantly clear, Miranda was loud and confident, Elli was soft spoken. Elli always thought logically and Miranda was wild. Mer loved parties and Ellianna hated them. Yet they still stood together supporting each other in everything, especially after what has happened to Elli in eighth grade. I thought back to my friends back home in Jefferson. And I didn't have anyone like that in my life. Even when I started my downward spiral Brianna had left me, but Mer still stood by her best friend.
"Allright so it's settled we're crashing the party?" Colin enthused, Ellianna looked less than excited but still she agreed. "Sure well crash maddies party." I took a deep breath also not liking this party crashing idea. "Okay if your all doing it count me in." I said waving my invisible white flag screening to peer pressure. We better win fridays game because no matter what, after the game was a lock to be a shit show.
