I Want You - Aonung

Chapter 2

Aonung POV:

As Laelyn and Tuk walked away it left just me and my Sister and we decided to start walking to our pod as well since eclipse was near.

"So Brother you know I'm going to ask" she said with a mischievous smile.

"What Tsireya?" "Who is this someone you were talking about earlier" she looked directly into my eyes

"It's no one" "Are you sure it's not Laelyn I see how you guys look at each other, I'm not an idiot brother I know you" she said nudging my shoulder

"Sister I'm sure if I'm interested in a girl you will be the first one to know"

" I better be the first" she replied with a chuckle

We made it to our pod and Tsireya started to walk inside "Are you coming inside" she said  "No I'm going to stay outside for a little" I told her, she just nodded and walked inside.

I sat on the edge of the walking path putting my feet inside the water to relax me and my inner thoughts.

I enjoyed making necklaces with Tsireya, Tuk, and Laelyn today, especially Laelyn. Me and her have been friends since she arrived in Awa'atlu but lately, things have been different between us.

Lately I've been nervous around her, every time I hear her name my ears perk up and my heart starts to beat out of my chest, and my face starts to heat up.

I don't know what this feeling is but I've never felt it before with anyone, especially a girl.

I've never been good at talking to girls in my clan, I've never understood them and they mostly just wanted to talk to me because I'm going to be the next Olo'eyktan that's why Im mainly with my sister Tsireya and Roxto

But when I meet Laelyn everything changed I wanted to become friends with her because she seemed so different than any of the other girls in my clan, she seemed special.

I don't even know why I told her that I created my necklace for "someone" when it's really just for my mother, I think I maybe just wanted to see her reaction

Then when were walking back to Tsireya and Tuk and she started tearing up about her necklace it made me sad and want to comfort her. I've never done that for any other girl before except my sister.

I don't know why I'm feeling like this I'm so confused and frustrated at the same time, in what felt like defeat I put my hands over my face.

As I was sitting outside I heard footsteps coming up behind me so I turned around to see who it was and it was my father "Son why are you out here? Are you okay?"

"Yes father I'm fine, I'm just doing some thinking"

"About what son?"

He puts his hand on my shoulder with concern "it's nothing important father"

"Are you sure son?"

"Yes I'm sure"

"Ok well, you know if you need to talk I'm here" I nodded

"Thanks, father" I smiled at him, he smiled back and began to walk into our pod leaving me with my thoughts

Omniscient POV:

After almost sitting outside for an hour he decided to go inside so he could go to sleep since he had to wake up early to start his duties.

Once he got in his bed he thought about how beautiful Laelyn looked today with her long black braids and shell top with a matching shell necklace

she usually wore more forest-type clothes because she said it helps her feel like she was still in the forest but today she tried a Metkayina look which Aonung loved

He loves how she stays true to her Omatikaya ways but still embraces Metkayina's ways as well.

He doesn't know why he's letting all these feelings get into his head when he knows he can't entertain them, he can't get distracted by love.

It's almost as if his heart and mind are playing tug of war, the mind wants to stay focused so he can help and guide his people and his heart is expressing feelings he doesn't understand but at the same time he likes it.

After a while he closed his eyes waiting for sleep to take over him, the last thing he said before going to sleep was "I hope I see Laelyn tomorrow"
