The crowd shouted in protest at Julius tried to sell the bidders another haunted item. Grace was shoved closer to Lockwood as people started throwing their hands in the air. Lucy grabbed the sleeve of Grace's cloak trying to keep up with them as they weaselled through the crowd.

"Where's the mirror?!"

"We want the mirror!"

"Come on!" Lockwood stopped allowing Grace and Lucy to come to his side. Grace gave him a look when she heard Adelaide's voice.

"Of course you do!" She held up her hands with a smile. "And here she is. That rarity," Julius stepped back grabbing the mirror from a stand. It was covered with an iron net. "The piece that has so exercised the hard-working people at DEPRAC these past few days." Julius set it on the first podium so the crowd had full view.

"Recovered at a great cost from the grave of the visionary genius Sir Edmund Bickerstaff." The crowd murmured as people continued to step forward. Julius took off the iron net revealing the mirror. It had an iron covering the centre of the mirror. "We present to you, the bone glass."

Grace could hear the buzzing although, she didn't have intense nausea like Lucy. She however grimaced a bit as Grace took her hand.

"A truly lethal item, the mirror's surface itself has been covered for your protection, exudes a mesmeric attraction more powerful," Julius gave the crowd his presentation. Lockwood reached into his pockets searching for something.

"There are too many people. Let's just wait and see who buys it," Lucy whispered. Grace shook her head as Lockwood gave her flares.

"This is not what I had in mind Lockwood," Grace stared at him a little shocked.

"I'm gonna need a distraction to get to the mirror," He muttered. "Look out I'll give you a signal." He nodded before heading forward through the crowd. Grace reached for his sleeve, but he had already slipped past.

"A signal? What kind of signal?" Lucy asked.

"I don't know, he's planning on his own once again," Grace whispered.

She was nervous about his plans. They were too far apart and she was worried that if something happened. Even with a distraction, he could still be taken from her or possibly killed.

It would happen so fast. I wouldn't be able to get through this many people.

Julius's voice echoed in the background as he still described the mirror to the crowd. Lucy and Grace were trying to stay a safe distance back, but not too far so that they couldn't see the stage. The crowd was slightly helping as they all wanted to get a clear view of the bone glass.

"You canaries may now approach," Julius said pointing to the children in the front row.

Lucy and Grace stood on their tip toes trying to see over all the heads. They could see up onto the stage, but they couldn't see the poor children covering their ears. Slowly they watched several children get shoved forward.
