ALEX LOST HIS SHIT the second he saw Riley. He grabbed his collar and before I knew it, he was swinging at him, hitting him on the lip. Riley didn't see it coming, he was too shocked at the sight before him to fight. But even if he did, Alex was much built than Riley and taller, I knew that he wouldn't win.

Alex was always like this—he had a hard time controlling his anger issues especially when it came to me. There was this time when we started dating and falling in love, we made a promise towards each other that he'll always have my back and I'll always have his. Even if our relationship ended in a shittiest way possible, he always cared for me and protected me and my secret.

I loved Alex and I knew that he loved me too.

So, I wasn't going to let himself dig a hole that he might not come back from. I grabbed his arm, catching him off guard, and using all my body to let Riley go. Alex stumbled back while Riley fell down on the ground, using his elbow to pull himself to sit.

I knelt down, taking a good look at him—his lip was busted open, his eyes wide open in shock from what just happened. "Sorry," I mumbled, pulling out my handkerchief from my back pocket and handing it to him. "Alex is overprotective of me."

"What the hell's going on, Sam?" He pressed the cloth to his lip, and winced. "You're Ice? The girl that Travis was supposed to fight tonight?"

If I denied it, I wouldn't have any explanations as to why I was here, why I knew Alex, or why I was wearing what the girl who fought Knife was wearing. So, I nodded. "Yeah, I am. You've got to listen to me, Riley. I need you to promise me that this will stay between us, Riley. You don't understand the danger of people finding out that—"

"Hey, Riley, are you here—Holy shit."

When I gazed up, the same grey eyes that I saw that made me run away from the ring was staring right back at me now.

          Fuck.

If I needed to get out this situation and make sure that every single bit of Travis's friends keep their mouth shut, I have to talk to him which was obviously going to be an absolute nightmare.

He was already wearing a plain maroon shirt, hiding his tattoos but not his ripped muscles that were still popping. Somehow, I felt disappointed that he had already hidden his rock hard abs, and his tattoo that I wanted to take a good look at.

What the hell was wrong with me?

Turning around to face Alex, he was ready to beat the shit out of Travis too but I put my hand on his chest, forcing him to look at me. "Can you just take Riley somewhere and help him clean up his busted lip?"

He stared at me with such intensity in his amber colored eyes. "You sure?"

I nodded, not saying anything more and he just pressed his lips on my forehead before moving around me to hold out his hand towards Riley. He took it, and he led him out of the room, closing the door behind him but not before giving me a concerned look.

Travis was just staring at me in silence, observing me. This time, there were no insults or his witty statements towards me. Instead, he was just standing in front of me, his eyes gawking at me from head to toe.

"Listen," I took a step closer, crossing my arms which was a mistake. I had hit the right side of my ribs all of a sudden, causing me to wince and hiss for a second. I knew fair well that I had some bruising from getting thrown like a ragdoll by Knife but I wasn't about to let Travis know that. "I need you to keep this a secret between us."
