Ranea skipped over to me humming a tune. I eyed her suspiciously. She didn't get this excited. I closed my locker giving her my full attention.

"Hey," she sang.

"What's going on?" I asked.

"Guess what?"

"Yeah."

"I'm having a sleepover."

"Cool."

She squeezed my shoulder. "Naiya and Chelsea are going to be there."

That shifted my mood. "Wow. Okay."

"You can act more excited than that."

I clapped my hands and threw them up in the air.

"I told you that I wanted you to work on your relationship with Chelsea."

"And I thought I made it clear that it would never happen."

Ranea filled herself with hope that Chelsea and I could make amends. It was still too late. Nothing she did could change my decision because all that came from her mouth is nonsense.  Being a room with Chelsea for hours pretenting to be friends was not how I wanted to spend a Saturday. I would rather be at home. Ranea still had this vision of some trio between us. It wasn't happen.

"Ugh," she grunted.

"Ranea you have got to get over this."

"You and Naiya can have a chance right?"

After Naiya revealed what kind of person she really was, that ended any potential friendship with her too. She didn't hold herself accountable for flirting with Devin. She disregarded our confrontation to her. I layed the truth on her, and she couldn't handle it. It puzzled me how Ranea trusted her after she flirted with Devin. They weren't together at the time, but she displayed an open interest on him. That wasn't to be taken lightly.

"I don't know. She can't be trusted."

"It was an accident. She knows that Devin and I are in a relationship now. She wouldn't cross those boundaries."

"Okay what about William? She still disrespected him."

"Her and William are working things out."

"Richard and Chase?"

Naiya slapped Richard in the face for calling her out. Her parents sided with him, which was wrong. She, for sure, owed him an apology.

Ranea rolled her eyes. "Forget them."

"She had no reason for hitting that man."

"He needs to mind his own business."

"Okay."

Still squeezing my shoulders, she shook them slightly. "Miesha, I really need you to come. I can't have a party and not have my own best friend there."

"Okay," I repeated.

"Good enough for me."

"What is going with you Ranea?"

Her attempts for me to get along with people I didn't like irritated me. She hardly tried this much. Not even from people from the past who she considered a friend. It wasn't like she gave my friend Malesha a chance. She hadn't been mean to her. Ranea instantly blew her off for no reason. I had valid reasons for why I didn't like Chelsea or Naiya. I wanted her to leave this alone. But a part of me thought that this had something to do with Devin.

I surveyed her face and attire. Behind those eyes, she hid her real feelings. She sought out peace, but to the extent of putting people together that shouldn't be. Almost like it was forced on her. Possibly by Devin.
