After hearing Antonio's story, I should be grateful that Bridget was here especially since we never really knew what happened to her. However, this was different. Antonio's mom took care of him. She wanted better for them. Most of all, she stayed with him. Bridget only looked out for herself. She wasn't in an abusive relationship. Daddy was loving, kind, and caring. She was the who didn't care.

Bridget appeared from the den when I got home. She looked sad.

"Miesha, can you sit down?" She asked.

"No. There is nothing else you can say to me."

"Yes. There is."

"Bridget, can you just leave me alone. You got everything that you wanted."

"No, I didn't. I don't have my daughter. I get it. I lost you a long time ago. I wanted to repair the damage. Now, I realize it's too late." Her voice cracked as she sat down.

"Don't do this."

"I have to. I've ruined you and Darrin's relationship. That's worse than leaving you two cause he never left like I did. And if that's the case. I should go."

"What do you mean?"

"I mean. That I leave here and let you get back to your lives without me."

"Really?" I couldn't hide the excitement behind my voice. I had been wanting this since she walked through that front door.

As my excitement grew at the news, Bridget's sadness grew at the same time. I didn't know what kind of reaction she thought I would give, but it wasn't going to be me begging on my knees for her not to go.

"Yeah. I'll get to packing and be out by tomorrow."

"What about me?" My dad entered the room. He looked distressed.

"Darrin, I want you to be happy. This is the way to go."

"How can I when you're leaving me again? It's you Bridget. It's always been you."

"I'm not important. I ruined it all. Besides, Miesha is who is important."

My breathing stopped when my dad looked over to me. I thought he would say that I wasn't important to him anymore.

"She is. Miesha means everything to me. But so does you. I want you ladies to continue to work on this. Miesha, I can help you heal. But just know that your mom is the one for me."

My dad fell to his knees. My mom's words weakened him. He really wanted her in our home.

Bridget walked up to my dad. She kissed his forehead. "I'm sorry Darrin. I can't stay. It's time for me to go."

He hugged her from around the waist as he cried. This slowly killed my insides. I hated seeing this. It was all too much for me, so I went to my room.

Malesha, Melina, and I met up at a donut shop a few days later. I needed to get out caused I didnt like the mood at home. Malesha set it up since Melina was missing when we went to the movies. Good for her. She was able to dodge Devin.

I had to fake it for Malesha. She wanted us to get along and be close friends. Malesha claimed that Melina would be a better friend than Ranea. I didn't think so.

"Antonio told me he opened up to you about his situation," Malesha said.

"It was sad to hear," I said.

"Antonio is a strong man. He can handle anything," Melina said.

The lady who took our orders at the counter called our number. She sat our food on a tray. It was an order of a dozen donuts, two iced coffees, and some milk. The milk was for me. I didn't drink coffee.
