As I was coming up on the school campus, I heard yelling. I glanced around the school to see where it was coming. It was getting louder as I kept walking and there I saw it. Devin was all in Ranea's face screaming at her. She was crying her eyes out. I had never heard Devin yell before, but I didn't like it not one bit. He was very close to her face. I quickly strutted over to them.
"Devin, you get away from her now." I said firmly.
He gave me a death look that made me back sway from him. "Go away Miesha this has nothing to do with you."
Ranea was still crying. "Ranea are you okay? Did he hurt you?" I asked.
He got in front of her blocking me away from her. "I said go away Miesha. You really don't want to see my ugly side."
His eyes were dilated. He had a completely different expression. It would be hard to recognize him if I was looking at his face. He had some serious rage in his eyes that scared me a lot. But I definitely wasn't going to leave Ranea.
"Devin you better not be hurting her."
The sound of my voice was shaky and lacked control. I was scared for myself and even more for Ranea, which was why I stayed instead going away like he said.
"What I do with my girl is none of your business."
"Well I'm making it my business now." I told him.
He stepped closer to me causing me to take one back. My nerves were all over the place now, and I was hoping me and Ranea could get out this situation unharmed.
I looked around him and saw her hands covering her face.
"Ranea come on let's go." I tried to get around Devin, but he grabbed a little too roughly and pulled me away from Ranea. I stumbled slightly but was able to steady myself. There was a change in his expression as he saw me trying not to fall.
He sighed. "Miesha just go away. I don't want anyone getting hurt."
I became pissed then. I went from being frightened to mad. First, he yelled at Ranea and got rough with me. I walked up to him unsure of what I was about to do. But before anything could happen, he grabbed me again a little softer this time.
"I'm not going to fight you Miesha," He said.
"You better not be hurting her or you and I will have some problems," I told him.
"Miesha, why don't you just get hell away. Didn't I tell you to leave me alone. Yet here you are bothering me again. Get away," she screamed.
It took a second for me to take all that in. She never yelled at me before like that. It was slowly killing me that Devin had her changing her behavior like that. It worried me cause I didn't want anything bad happening to her. It was hard to see her crying like this.
"Ranea, I don't want to leave without making sure you're okay," I said.
"I can't deal with this." Ranea stormed away from me and Devin in a frenzy.
"We'll discuss this later," he told me before going in the direction Ranea went to.
I had this strong feeling that this situation wasn't going to get better but worse. But I don't intend on letting it get too far.
I barged into the cafeteria with a goal of confronting Devin. I didn't care that Ranea would be there. She lowered her head and dabbed at her face using a napkin. Her head popped up to look at me. Both her and Devin stared at me as I headed in their direction. Her face changed to blank.
