Meanwhile, a certain blue sword settled down into class and was trying to listen and take good notes about what the subject was for the day.
It was math class. Rocky's least favorite of the whole schedule.
What's worse? It was algebra.
Rocky was trying to make sense and makes use of the lesson and the notes. Nothing seemed to work.
"How am I going to prove myself to my father, Milly, if I can't even do the most simplest of things? Including this stupid math class?", Rocky wondered to himself.
Rocky shook his head and continued to try and keep up.
No luck.
However, unknown to Rocky, there was a group of kids who saw his struggles and whispered amongst themselves so low that the teacher couldn't even hear or notice.
One of them, a book named Paige, spoke up. "Hey, you see that blue sword over there?", she asked. Another one, a blue question mark named Mark, replied. "Yeah, he looks frustrated.", he replied.
A purple heart, named Sweetie, nodded. "He looks like he can't understand the class or lesson", she clarified. A gold crown, named Andy, piped up. "I can see that. Maybe we should help him.", he said.
The four students agreed and nodded.
They were going to talk to Rocky after class.
It was time to help him.
***********************
After class, Rocky made his way outside for lunch hour. However, instead of eating, he was more focused on trying to make sense of his notes and lesson from math class.
Nothing seemed to work.
That was when the four kids showed up.
"Hey, are you OK?", asked Mark. Rocky looked down and saw a blue question mark standing in front of him. He was confused. "Who are you?", he asked.
"Oh, allow all of us to introduce ourselves.", Paige piped up on behalf of everyone.
"My name is Paige, and this is Mark, Andy, and Sweetie.", she said as she gestured to the respective kids as she said their names.
Everyone waved at Rocky. Rocky awkwardly waved back, still confused.
"Anyway, we saw that you were rather upset about the lesson in math class, so we wanted to see if we could help you? If you want, that is.", Paige continued.
Rocky was surprised. No one ever talked to him before, let alone offered to help him with his school work.
"Umm, OK, I guess. My name is Rocky, by the way. But, I am just not doing so well. I am not sure if I will ever understand math or any other class for that matter.", he said, sadly.
The four kids frowned. They felt sorry for the sword.
"Don't worry, some students have their strengths in some classes, and some students learn differently in the other classes. I'm sure you can do it with some help.", said Sweetie.
Everyone nodded. Except Rocky.
"Do you really think so?", asked Rocky.
"We know so.", said Andy. Mark nodded and smiled.
Rocky smiled.
"Thank you, I could use the help.", he said.
And with that, Rocky finally had a way to get better and, hopefully, smarter.
But, in another part of the school, a certain football would find himself in deep trouble protecting a certain red paintbrush.
