Willy was excited. Thanksgiving was on its way! He loved spending Thanksgiving with his kids. But, this was a special Thanksgiving that was upcoming as his kids were spending their last year in middle school.
That to him was a huge milestone for his kids.
A milestone worth celebrating.
Soon, it was time, and the day approached. It was Thanksgiving, and he couldn't be happier.
Willy awoke from his bedroom. The sun's rays shone through the bedroom, giving off a very pretty and lovely scene. Willy yawned and got out of bed. He took off his nightcap and made his way to his kids' room.
Everyone was sleeping soundly in the room that they all shared. Three beds stacked on top of each other and another three stacked on top of each other. Tina was on the top and slightly awoke when she heard footsteps approaching.
"Guys, wake up, Willy's coming!", she said.
Slowly, everyone started to wake up.
And just in time as Willy knocked on the door.
"Come in!", said Tito groggily.
Willy walked in and smiled. "Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! I hope you are ready because we are going to have a really fun day, today! This is your last Thanksgiving holiday with you all being in middle school, and I want to make it special for all of you. So, I will give you guys time to get up and get ready for the day. I will meet you all in the kitchen so we can get started on our Thanksgiving dinner!", he announced.
Everyone cheered despite still trying to wake up.
Willy smiled and made his way down the hallway, towards the kitchen.

Later, everyone gathered in the kitchen. They were all ready to get cooking!

Albert cut the vegetables with his new invention: The Vegetable Chopper 3000!
Unfortunately, it went haywire and wound up chopping... well, a little more than the vegetables.
"HEY, watch it! That was my prized china plate!", shouted Hector!
"...sorry!", said Albert, sheepishly.

Pop tried to add pepper to the gravy to help season it. Unfortunately, there was a side effect.
"ACHOO!"
*CLANG*
"Pop, you just sneezed on the spoon and dropped it! Are you trying to contaminate the dinner?!", asked Tito.
"Sorry!", said Pop.

Making the mashed potatoes seemed to be a good session.
Until...,
"HELP, THE MASHED POTATOES ARE EXPLODING!", shouted Bonzo.
And they splattered everywhere in the kitchen!
"...I think our mashed potatoes are done.", Tina deadpanned.

Finally, the corn cobs were done cooking. They seemed perfect...
...but...
Willy tripped, and the corn cobs fell on top of the newly baked pie!
Now, the pie was decorated with ears of corn.
"Great, now we have Pie A La Corn!", Tina said sarcastically.

After a disastrous time making dinner, Willy and his kids finally got everything fixed and made.
It was all placed on the table, and everyone took their seats around the table.
All eyes were on Willy.
"Everyone, thank you all for making this delicious dinner, despite the disasters along the way. But, I can hereby say, and I am proud to say it, that I am proud to be your father and how much I love you all. You guys are growing up so fast and so much that I am very surprised yet happy for all of you. You all made me proud and continue to do so. So, for this Thanksgiving, I am thankful, oh so much, for you all and for giving me the wonderful chance to be a father. Something I never thought I would be when I moved here, but something that I loved and continue to love, through thick and thin."
Everyone was so touched by Willy's words. Pop shed a few tears, but quickly wiped them away. Tina saw Pop's tears but said nothing to prevent embarrassing Pop and drawing unnecessary attention. Albert clapped while everyone else cheered.
Now, it time for everyone else to say what they were thankful for.
Albert was thankful for his family and his adventures in science.
Pop was thankful for his family and all the entertainment in the world.
Tito was thankful for his family and his newfound knowledge of geography in Canada.
Tina was thankful for her family and her new art kit she had got from Willy as an apology gift for what the art teacher had done to her.
Bonzo was thankful for his family and for his new hockey stick, custom made for him out of love from Tina as a "Thank you" gift for defending her from that horrible art teacher.
Lastly, Hector was thankful for his family and for knowing more about the history of his life.
It was time for the dinner to begin.
Luckily, despite getting off to a rocky start, the dinner was a huge success. The turkey was delicious. The mashed potatoes- or what was left of them- were very good with the gravy. The vegetables and corn were good despite being chopped up into tiny pieces and covered in pumpkin pie filling, respectively. And there were yams, stuffing, and cranberry sauce.
And last but not least, the pumpkin pie, itself.
It was a bit messy because of the corn falling on it. But, nonetheless, it was the best.
Everyone knew that despite the rocky start and not everything being perfect, it was still very good and something to be thankful for and hold dear.
Perfection is good, but having flaws and making mistakes is what truly makes a family and makes a person.
Because, no matter what, it is always important to treasure the quirks as they make everything great in the end.
