The road to recovery

Chapter 19

Damon, Bonnie and Jeremy are at the Martin's residence. Both Bonnie and Jeremy enter easily but Damon decides to stop at the doorway and gently push his foot through just to make sure that he can truly enter.

"Yep. Everybody's dead." Damon declares when his foot goes through before walking all the way into the room.

Damon immediately spots Luka's body on the floor.

"We should pack up the grimoires. They spent years collecting them. I wanna make sure they're safe." Bonnie decides.

Damon is looking at Luka's corpse and says, "you know, we could just get another match and cremate him."

"Don't be disrespectful. Not to him." Bonnie tells him.

"Fine I'll bury him." Damon says.

"What exactly are we looking for?" Jeremy asks.

"According to Luka's dad, one of these contains a spell that'll let me harness the energy that's left behind when a witch dies violently." Bonnie explains.

"I didn't know you and father witch were so close." Damon taunts.

"We weren't but when he gave me my powers back, he gave me a message. If I can find the spot in town, where the old Salem witches were burned, I can harness their energy to use when I need it." Bonnie informs them.

"Great. We'll have to put that on our list of things to do today. Harness ancient dead-witch power." Damon jokes.

"You know where the witches were burned?" Bonnie asks.

"Did I forget to mention that?" Damon asks back.

"You said that they thought that Stiles was a demon, right?" Jeremy suddenly asks Bonnie.

"Yeah, why?" Bonnie questions.

"Wait did you just say demon." Damon asks as he thinks back to what Vanessa told him at Duke.

"Well, this book has lots of information on demons." Jeremy says, ignoring Damon as he looks at the book that was open on the desk.

"Grab it. It might tell us what Stiles is." Bonnie order's Jeremy.

Jeremy picks up the book before looking at the wall full of grimoires and asks, "Are we gonna have to read through every one of these books till we find the right spell?"

"Not exactly." Bonnie declares before closing her eyes and raising her hands in the direction of the bookshelf. Books fall off of the bookshelf until one opens itself up in front of Bonnie. "It's this one."

"Great. Grab the rest. Let's go." Damon orders them.

Stiles is helping Carol set up the luncheon that will be starting soon. But even as he tries to help his mind is elsewhere. Ever since the day that the Grill erupted into flames and Stiles saved Bonnie, Stiles has been staying out of sight from Bonnie and her friends.

Why did the lights at the Grill explode?

Why did the bottle break?

Why did the bar top burst into flames?

Bonnie looked so scared when Stiles was just trying to help.

And no matter how much Stiles looks he can't find out why Elijah's brother would need Stiles to be part of the curse.

"Stiles. Those glasses are supposed to go into the main hall not by the food." Stiles' thoughts get interrupted by Carol's voice.

"Sorry Carol." Stiles says.
