"All right, I'm done." Stiles calls out.
"And what is it you were doing again? Other than drawing on the house." John asks his son as he takes a look at the intricate looking design that Stiles has placed all over the house.
"I've been placing runes clusters on the doors and windows as well as the fencing around the house. It's to keep us safe. Especially with all the supernatural living around us." Stiles informs his father.
"But what do these...rune clusters do exactly?" John asks before taking a large sip of his coffee, in order to hide his smile as he watches Stiles' face light up as he talks about his magic.
"...fire protection, I'm thinking about sending the design to Derek and Peter so when they finally settle down, they can find a trust worthy magic user to do them. Or I may even visit them to do it. They deserve to feel safe. Oh, and then there is this one, it won't let anyone into the house that has any negative intentions towards either of us. I wanted to place the same thing around the fences but according to Sarah that isn't truly feasible because ya know outdoors and such. However, I was able to use a rune that will send an alert to both of our phones to warn us that someone has arrived and what their intentions are. Isn't that cool. I can't believe Sarah didn't tell me about that rune sooner." Stiles explains.
"So, you've basically made our house impenetrable to intruders whether they are human or not." John summaries and smirks down into his coffee at the outraged look that passes onto Stiles' face.
"I mean...yeah. but dad it's so much more technical than that." Stiles groans, fully aware that his father is just pulling his leg.
"Well, thank you for making sure that we are safe." John says before taking another sip of his coffee as a thought crosses his mind. "Carol came by yesterday evening, while you were hanging out with Tyler. She brought you a suit for homecoming."
"She didn't have to do that. I'm not even sure I'm going to go." Stiles says quietly causing John to frown.
"Well, why not?" John asks.
"Dad, I don't have a date. Plus, this town isn't like Beacon Hills...I have no idea how they would react to me..." Stiles trails off.
"You're worried about how the town will react to you if they find out your gay." John states. "Look kid I'm sure no one would..."
Stiles interrupts John, "you have no idea how they will react. I mean dad this whole town constantly celebrates it's past. You know the past from when they all kept slaves and you haven't been here long, but they constantly talk about tradition and I...I don't...I don't feel safe coming out here. Maybe once I've gone to college. But not now."
"Okay kid, so you don't come out now. And when you go to college I will move to a more progressive area." John says.
"Dad, you don't need to move again." Stiles starts to say but John interrupts.
"My moving here was never meant to be permanent Stiles. I came here because I wanted to see you through your last year of high school and into college but after that...I...I plan to live with my partner." John admits.
"Your partner?" Stiles takes a second to really think about who has been around his father recently. "No way...Peter! Peter is your partner!"
John heaves a long put-upon sigh as he massages his temples, "Yes, Peter is my partner."
"Oh my god your dating zombie-wolf." Stiles laughs out loud before a look of complete horror overtakes his face "oh god creeper-wolf is dating my father."
Stiles hears a shutter sound and looks up to see his dad holding his phone and taking a picture of his face.
"What are you doing?" Stiles asks.
