"Morning pops." Stiles greets his father.
"Morning Stiles...I didn't see you much at the ball last night. Where did you wonder off to?" John asks, looking at his son intently.
"You know me, and crowds don't get along to well. I mostly stayed outside." Stiles informs his father.
"I didn't see Elijah to often either." John points out.
Stiles sighs, "Ask me whatever it is you wish to know old man."
"I'm not old." John replies immediately before continuing, "What is going on between you and Elijah?"
"Nothing." Stiles says but the blush on his cheeks as he thinks about the almost kiss that he and Elijah shared says otherwise.
"Stiles, you warned me about that family for a reason. Is it really smart for you to get entangled with them?" John asks, worried.
"Probably not...it is probably going to be one of the worst mistakes that I make in my life but dad there is just something about him. He isn't scared of me or trying to use me for his benefit. He makes me feel human again." Stiles admits.
"You barely know him." John points out gently.
"You married mom after knowing her for 6 months." Stiles defends.
"I knew one day you would use that against me. I just hoped you'd be in your twenties like I was when I married your mother. You aren't even nineteen yet Stiles." John says.
"I'm not planning on marrying him dad and I know I'm only eighteen, but I also have a thousand years' worth of memories that both feel like mine and don't. I'm one of the most powerful creatures on the planet. I don't plan on getting hurt." Stiles informs.
"No one ever plans on getting hurt Stiles, but it does happen and I'm your father, it is my job to worry about you." John explains.
"I know dad and I love you for it, but I promise you that I know what I'm doing." Stiles promises.
"Fine...what are your plans for today? I have work today and I doubt that I will be able to make my escape to have lunch with you again." John says.
"I plan on going to the grill, doing my homework and then looking into the case files that I most definitely don't have in my possession." Stiles tells his father whilst smiling innocently.
"Don't let anyone see you with those. I don't want to be getting fired when I'm Still new to the job." John warns.
"Who do you take me for? Of course, I won't get caught." Stiles huffs.

Stiles is sat in a booth at the Grill. He has already completed his homework and is now getting something to eat before he decides to look at the case files.
"Yeah, a cheeseburger with curly fries please." Stiles tells the waiter when a voice catches his ear.
"Does he still think I'm a serial killer?"
"He's a little judgemental." Alaric confirms.
"Speaking of. Your x-rays were inconclusive. Your knife wound was already semi-healed. It's impossible to tell anything about whoever stabbed you. Short, tall, left-handed, right-handed. No clue." A woman that Stiles vaguely recognises states.
Stiles' father had told Stiles that Alaric had been attacked in the Gilbert home by the serial killer. It makes sense that the killer would go after Mr Saltzman, he is a member of the council but isn't a part of the founding families...but something just feels off about the attack. And Stiles can't put his finger on what.
