A loud thump of something breaking caused her eyes to snap open. My gaze fell on Thomas picking up something from the floor quickly, somewhat nervous if you will.

"Thomas?" I asked with a raspy voice.

-But look who has deserted.-he said getting up from the ground with energy, leaving everything he was doing and approaching me.-I thought I was going to run out of your stories.

"You won't get rid of me for a long time." I tried to stand up but as soon as I did, a strong pain in my clavicle made me return to my previous position. "Ahh." I complained, touching the affected area.

"No no." Thomas quickly removed my hands, placing them back on the sheets. "Not that. Miss Archer has entrusted your care to me.

"Are you my escort now?" I ran my hand over my face.

"You could say so." He nodded his head. "They looked worried, Maia.

"No, I don't think so." He started to get angry.

-I do believe it. You didn't see her faces when you were in the dining room with just a shred of life. You almost died, Maia.-she sentenced firmly.-They did everything possible to keep you alive. You've been unconscious for three days, three days in which they haven't stopped coming to see you, desperate because they didn't know how to wake you up.-He got up desperate.-They had the same desperate faces as I did when I found my boyfriend dead in the sidewalk!-she yelled without looking at me.-Fuck.-she turned to look at me, tears were running from her eyes.-Don't you understand?! You don't know what I would do to have Peter alive again! So it could be said that yes, I know when those factions are pure despair.

-I_I, I'm sorry.-I looked down.

-You just have to understand it.-He shook his head again.-They have explained it to me, the connection that vampires have is much stronger than that of humans. While humans can be wrong to be with their mate, vampires know that this is their forever mate.

-I must understand many things apparently. –I said without looking at him.

-Just keep an open mind. I thought we had already left this conversation behind.-she said while she laughed.

-Yes, well, sometimes it doesn't hurt to remember it. Can you help me up? Please.-I asked, tired of lying down all the time.-If I've been unconscious for three days, how have I fed?

-Oh yes of course.-He approached me and began to lift me up.-For two days you have had a dropper with which they fed you. Miss Archer has been taking care of that.

"Could you bring me closer to the window?" I asked once I got up.

-Yes, of course.-he answered starting to walk towards the place.-You have good views, you know?

-The ones from a forest.- I began to laugh.

-They give me peace.-he sounded thoughtful.

"Did you have family before?" I dared to ask once I was sitting near the window.

"My family stopped talking to me when I told them I had a boyfriend." She lowered her head.

"I'm sorry to hear that." I looked directly into his eyes.

-N_nothing happens, it's past water.-he looked at me again.-And you? How about you?

"I don't know if they're still alive." I lowered my head, disappointed.

"You never have to lose hope." With his right hand he raised my head.

-That's what Carlos always tells me, you would like him.
