The plan: get Kiara and Sarah stuck on Heyward's boat in the middle of the marsh. John B figured that if they were stuck together overnight, they would have to start talking to each other.

JJ and John B waited on Heyward's boat with Sarah. They pretended to try fixing something, but couldn't figure it out, which is why they needed Kiara to come.

When Pope, Aurora, and Kiara pull up to the boat, Kiara is immediately annoyed by Sarah being there.

"See? Karma. I told you." Kiara says. Pope rolls his eyes and helps her onto his dad's boat.

"What's your problem?" Kiara asks. She stands over JJ and John B, who are knee-deep in the controls of the boat.

"Here, take this. We can't figure it out." John B says. He gives Kiara a tool that will not help her. It's important to add that it's impossible to fix the boat and get it running. The pogues removed the piece they were 'missing'.

Once John B hands off the tool, the pogue boys run off the boat and jump into the marsh. They get back into the HMS pogue and drive off.

"John B! Get back here!" Sarah shouts after them.

Kiara's jaw clenches as she watches her friends leave her with the kook princess. She puts the pieces together and figures that they're going to have to spend the night on the marsh together.

"Fuck this shit." Kiara mumbles.

The boys and Aurora go back to the chateau.

"So, what do y'all wanna do tonight?" John B asks as JJ ties the HMS to the dock.

JJ takes Aurora's hand and helps her get from the boat to the dock.

"What? More like who." JJ jokes. Aurora slaps JJ's chest. He pretends to whine as if it hurt.

"What do you mean by that, JJ?" John B asks, eyebrow raised.

Pope watches the way JJ and Aurora stand beside each other. He follows JJ's eyes as they trace Aurora's features. Pope realizes that he lost something great. He didn't lose her like the second sock of a pair, or homework, or a lucky pencil, or his favorite t-shirt. He lost her. He lost Aurora Minerva. The girl who any guy— every guy— would want. Aurora used to be all over Pope. They used to be best friends. They used to look at each other like the way Aurora and JJ do now. He knows he messed up. He should've gone after Aurora. Aurora Minerva is the Webster's Dictionary definition of perfect. And Pope Heyward? He's an idiot.

"Have y'all been fucking?" John B asks.

"Friends with benefits is a better term, thank you very much." JJ says. He wraps his arm around Aurora's shoulders.

Aurora laughs. She pulls away from JJ. He follows her as she walks down the dock.

John B watches them as they leave. He turns back to Pope. The sun sets behind Pope Heyward. His body is just a silhouette. John B is blinded by the sun behind Pope, so he squints as he looks at him. "That's gotta hurt." John B says.

"Yeah. Yeah, it does." Pope nods. John B wraps his arm around Pope's shoulders. They walk down to the chateau in silence.

When Aurora and JJ arrive at the Minerva home, it's silent.

"Dad? Lucca? August?" Aurora tries to find her family, but they must not be home.

She goes back to JJ, who waited in the entryway for her. He takes a sticky note off a mirror and shows it to Aurora with a raised eyebrow.
