Parcel 9.

"Wow! The prince and princess have finally arrived!" Kiara jokes as JJ and Aurora finally stumble into The Wreck.

Pope's heart stings when Kiara mentions the familiar 'prince and princess' joke. That used to be him and Aurora. He doesn't exactly know whether or not JJ and Aurora are truly together or not, but it hurts. He normally knows everything about Aurora. Plus, he know that she's had a crush on him for forever, so now that she doesn't? That sucks a little. Pope doesn't say much when the five pogues talk about the gold. He's upset about his lost friendship with Aurora, and furious with his other best friend, JJ. He completely broke bro-code.

Aurora can read the tension on Pope's face from the moment she stepped into The Wreck. That comment from Kiara didn't help either. Aurora let's JJ talk. She doesn't want to. She avoids eye contact with Pope at all costs.

"Wait, so you're living with the Cameron's now?" JJ asks. He chuckles at John B's poor housing arrangement.

"Yeah, and it's not so bad. Ward is pretty nice."

"Nice? That's funny." Kiara says. John B rolls his eyes. Of course Kiara would say something like that. She hates the Camerons.

The conversation of John B living with the Camerons makes her think of what her dad said a few days before. 'Cause problems for us' Ward Cameron had said the morning of midsummers.

"JB, you gotta get out of there." Aurora says.

"Thank you!" Kiara exclaims.

"What? Why? You're friends with Sarah." John B argues.

"Just because I'm friends with Sarah doesn't mean I'm friends with Ward Cameron."

"What do you mean?" JJ asks. Now, everyone was looking at Aurora, waiting for what she would say next.

"I don't know. I just think Ward can be a really dangerous guy." Aurora says. She withholds some truth from her confession. Mostly the part about Ward saying that John B would cause problems for him and Harrison.

"I don't care who is gonna come after me, you know that."

"But JB, do you not remember hearing our dads and Ward arguing before your dad disappeared? Come on, that argument was huge."

"Rory, I don't want to talk about it. I have to find this gold. That's all that matters right now."

Aurora rolls her eyes. John B is full on throwing himself into the lion's den.

The pogues go to an empty table. Pope, Aurora, and John B sit at the table, while JJ and Kiara stand around it.

"Look, I don't care if you hang around with Sarah, but I'm not doing anything with her." Kiara says.

"Do you see her here?" John B asks. Nobody answers. "Right. A little focus would be fantastic."

"We've got a map." Aurora says. She agrees with John B partly. They have to find the gold.

"Yeah but it's all messed up cause the guy was ganja'd when he drew it." JJ says.

"It's because the coast has changed." Pope deadpans. He's fed up with JJ at this point. Everyone can see it.

"What about old forts?" John B asks.

"Battery Jasper." Aurora answers. Everyone knows that Aurora is addicted to geography and history about the obx.

Battery Jasper is an old lookout. It has stones piled on top of each other, but that's about it.

The pogues get to Battery Jasper, but it seems like a whole lot of nothing.
