A/N I think I want to start updating twice a week so weekends and Wednesdays
The next day I woke up in the tent still full. Ember woke me and took me from the tent. Flame was outside waiting for me. “We must go now,” she whispered. I could tell it was dawn and I was a bit tired. I walked behind them as they guided me through the woods. Then I saw a deep cliff where I guessed we would start the climb. Flame grabbed onto a rock and pulled himself up and then he went further up.
At first climbing the mountain was easy. I could see that. I grabbed onto a very big rock that had much grip and then I grabbed a hand hold. My upper body strength from climbing the grates helped me. I grabbed another rock which was right behind Ember's foot. I went sideways to get past them. I wasn't fast but I could get up each of the rocks with ease since my arms hadn't gone tired yet. I climbed to the first cliff. I saw how high I was in the rocks. Panic grew before a soft breeze ran past my face. Wind is here to help him won't let me fall. I was relieved to go forward and continue. I grabbed hold of another rock on the mountain. Ember was right behind me and on the cliff as I caught more and more up to flame. He was much faster and stronger than I thought he would be. He didn't show any hint of slowing down. That just made me want to continue much more. I grabbed the net rock and the next.
“Don't go too fast, you could fall,” Ember said, watching me. I nodded and tried to go forward. That's when I saw a rock slip from Flames grip and he fell. I grabbed his hand quickly and let him there until he got his grip.
“Thank you, thank you, and thank you,” Flame said, breathing fast. I nodded and grabbed the next hold. A bag had been put on my sock at some point. I could feel the water sloshing around in it. I could smell the small hints of food.
I climbed to the second ledge and saw Flame struggling forward. I waited for him to get up to the ledge which he did with the little bits of wind that helped. I grabbed his arm and pulled him to the ledge where he grasped on for dear life.
I grabbed another hold and pulled myself up. My arms were barely breaking a sweat. As a blood wolf and the strongest werewolf in my year I knew this climb would be easy. I climbed it a year ago with my mother.
“Remember the stars” my mother had said as we climbed “were going to see them closer today” she smiled as she grabbed hold of the ledge and pulled herself up. I could see her nice flowing hair behind me.
“Yes i remember the stars” i said with excitement “this climb… will it make me worthy?” I asked if my own dark red locks were blowing in Wind. I grabbed another hold and pulled myself onto the ledge where I was able to rest my tired arm.
“It will make you a strong young one,” she said, pulling herself up beside me on the ledge. “Dragonlings know I will respect these mountains, they let us climb for our exercise, you as a princess usually never get..” she said sadly. I looked at mom who was already struggling to breath. We were over half way up.
“It will be okay mom, we can rest here, we need our fluids” I said sitting on the ledge insisting she sit beside me. She did resistantly. She grabbed out my water and hers from my pack. She handed me one and I drank deeply. I could see she was exhausted. “We can go back” i said looking at her with worry
“No” she said sharply looking at me “i need to know i can still do it you won't understand but this is a mission were not allowed to turn back, no matter what” and as if to prove a point she grabbed onto the rock and pulled herself up onto the rocks she continued and i watched her. I grabbed the rocks and pulled myself up as well.
