My heart pumped in sudden joy as if it felt relief when I found Rocky standing outside the store across from Monica's house. I wondered how stupid I could be that I visited half of the businesses around the street but I didn't check that store first. It was just that I was returning there to wait at my car parked in front of that store, and my eyes caught him.

I rushed to him before he could start going away to his destination.

When I stood a few feet away from him, respiring deeply, he scanned me from top to bottom as if he wondered if I were a crazy guy.

"Hi!" I said.

"I didn't recognize you. Who are you?" said Rocky.

"I'm Danny."

"It's still not ringing any bells!"

"Sarah's ex-boyfriend," I said.

"How may I help you?"

"I was inside the house when you were fighting with Sarah."

"So?"

"Aren't you angry? Don't you feel like you should punish her for insulting you?"

"It's my personal matter. I'll look into it. You don't need to interfere."

"I know how she is. I know she doesn't like to listen to her boyfriend. She just wants to keep doing what she wants to do, the way she wants to do it. She's a bitch."

Rocky raised his finger at me, and said through gritted teeth, "Mind your language."

"I know you are angry, and I know you have been thinking to hurt her. That's the reason you are still waiting out here for her to exit the house. Otherwise, you already could have left."

He paused for a bit. He looked hither and thither as if he was thinking something. Then, he stood for a moment, locking his look with mine.

"What have you decided?" I asked.

"I'm in. What's the plan?" said Rocky.

"I already made a deal with her friend, Diana," I said. "She will help me connect with Sarah."

"Why would she like to help you though?"

"I've kidnapped her brother, that's what she thinks."

"That's what she thinks!" He said in surprise. "What do you mean?"

"Sarah insulted her brother. He liked her, and when he expressed his feelings to her, she denied it. So he came to me to take revenge on her."

"You are the right man to make a deal," said Rocky. "Tell me what's next?"

"Somehow patch up with Sarah and bring her to my home," I said.

"Done."

"Sounds great! Give me your phone number," I said, my cell phone ready in my hands to type his phone number.

As he spoke his phone number, my fingers typed the number in a rush and saved it with his name.

"Wait for my message," I said. Then I walked to my car only after five steps and sat in it.

Then I drove it away toward my house. Rocky stood at his place, staring at my car disappearing in the distance.
