Chapter 33: Sarah

Rocky was really funny. He very well knew how to make someone happy. I was glad to be with him. He freed me from the hesitation I was having being with him and also the doubts I was having to proceed further with him in the relationship.

As I was having fun with rapid-fire questions, I said, "it's my turn now."

"Sounds great!" he said.

"Favorite color?"

"Red."

"Favorite food?"

"Mexican."

"Favorite actor?"

"Will Smith."

"Favorite actress?"

"Lily Collins."

"Favorite TV Series?"

"Emily In Paris and Bridgerton."

"Favorite Movie?"

"Harry Potter Series."

"Favorite Singer?"

"None. Enjoy music from various artists."

"Name a song that makes you happy?"

"Down by Jay Sean."

"Favorite beverage?"

"Chocolate Milkshake."

"If you could be the character in a TV show, what would you want to be?"

"Stefan Salvatore from Vampire Diaries."

"Coffee or tea?"

"Coffee."

"Cookie or brownie?"

"Brownie."

"Books or Magazines?"

"Don't like to read."

"What?" she said in surprise. "Why don't you like to read? It's fun."

"I don't know. I just start getting bored after reading only a page or max five pages. No matter how interesting a story is."

"Do you read newspapers?"

"Yes. Online."

"Then why don't you like to read books?"

"I really don't know."

"Okay. I understand some people don't like to read fictional books. What about inspirational books? Have you ever tried those motivational books?"

"No. I should try them, I think."

"You must. They will help you change yourself in a positive way. You will always be filled with motivation and inspiration."

"Tomorrow, we will go to Barnes & Noble. Help me buy a nice book," said Rocky.

"Sounds perfect!"

Rocky's lips fluttered as if he tried to say something, but his words were interrupted by Danny's phone call.

Rocky picked it up without any delay.

"Hello!" he said.

"How far are you?" asked Danny.

"I'm only about ten minutes away. Sarah and I will reach soon."

"Great!" said Danny, and hung up the call.

"I'm excited to see Danny's reaction when he finds out you are with me, not him."

"I'm worried. I hope he hasn't planned something sinister like murdering you."

"Don't scare me, Rocky."

"I'm sorry. I mean I don't know he's so impatient to teach you a lesson for the fault you never made."

"I know. But I don't think he would go that far," I said. "Or, would he?"

"All I can say is that I promise to protect you from him," said Rocky.

"And I trust you," I said. "I love you!" I put my hand, palm faced upward, on the cupholder.

"I love you, too," he said.

I coughed to catch Rocky's attention.

He noticed my hand on the cupholder, and he let his palm meet mine; a broad smile appeared on his face.
