Girlfriends III ; Shohoku

PART III !!! ( I enjoyed writing thisbso much wahaha)

Rukawa stood up.

He did it quickly so he felt bloodrush in his head, making him wobble quite a bit. Once he regained himself, he was contemplating between hitting his captain's face with a basketball or just.. simply... ignore and don't answer, like he always does when asked with baffling questions.

"What?" Rukawa said in utmost confusion.

"What does your girlfriend do that makes you feel most loved by her?" Akagi repeated, emphatically.

A long, loooonngggg silence.

"A lot."  Rukawa finally managed to answer.

"Yes, by what means?" Akagi asked, inching in closer.

"I don't need to repeat myself."

Sakuragi appeared out of nowhere, now sandwiched between the two, saying,

"Geez, kitsune. You're sucha killjoy."

"I am not." Rukawa snapped.

"Akagi, why are yoy asking strange questions out of the blue anyway?" Mitsui entered the conversation.

"I just wanted to know. I just realized that we all have girlfriends now."

Ayako's the only girl left on the gym, she's like a guardian overhearing the small talk the group was having. Their murmurs were suddenly halted when:

"Alright, alright!" Ayako clapped her hands, catching all of the team's attention, "This, this is turning out to be boy's talk now and it's quite awkward for me to stay in here...." Ayako was starting to pack her bags and she placed the now-broken pen behind her ear, "so, I gotta go."

When Ryota heard this, she jogged to Ayako's direction. They talked for a while but before Ryota let Ayako go, he placed a gingerly kiss on her forehead.

This just sent the Shohoku team into complete chaos: they can never fully understand why, in the most romantic moments that Ryota puts himself in, when he initiates the act he's so smooth and chill but when Ayako's the one who does it Ryota just runs out of breath and faints.

They'll just soon realize that when girls do the first move it just make boyfriends, in general, breathless.

Our Shohoku friends found themselves sitting in a circle later on.

Sakuragi nudged Ryota.

"That was smooth, Ryo-chin."

All Ryota could reply was a "Nyehehehehehe"

Without him noticing, (and probably due to boredom) Rukawa started to spin an empty Pocari bottle.

Where he got that bottle, nobody knew.

"Oi, kitsune!! You tryna play spin the bottle or something?"

"Huh?"

Akagi shot up with an idea.

"Rukawa. Spin the bottle again."

And Rukawa did. Without hesitation. It was a command from their captain after all.

The bottle stopped at Mitsui.

Rukawa soon realized what Akagi was planning.

"Ok, Mitsui."

"Hm?"

"What does your girlfriend do that makes you feel most loved by her?"

That's the third time TODAY that Akagi asked that question.

The rest of the Shohoku gang didn't react anymore, they just sat peacefully, as if surrendering, and they had the same thought on all of their minds:

"I just have to answer this to get this over with."

"Well... er..." Mitsui was in deep contemplation, trying to recall all of the things (name) did to him, "Everytime she'd look me in the eyes and smile and hug me."

The other Shohoku boys were nodding.

"I don't know, man. I just really feel loved, so damn much, everytime (name) does that to me."

"I CAN TOP THAT!!" Sakuragi said.

"Sakuragi, this isn't a competition okay?!" Akagi exclaimed.

"Tch.... Gori."

Mitsui spun the bottle next and it landed on Ryota.

This is going to be the first time that Ryota will share something special about his relationship with Ayako to his friends.

Well, he really views his other teammates as friends, with Sakuragi being his closest one.

"There was this one time when Ayako and I had a picnic and we were just lying down in the grass watching the clouds. After I held her hand, out of nowhere, she said, "I'm so lucky to have you."

"WAAAAHHHHH!!!! RYO-CHIN, THAT'S SO SWEET!!"

"I know, right?!! That's why I love Aya-chan so much, hehe"

Ryota spun the bottle next, and, slowly, it stopped at their captain.

Akagi's the second most private one on their group. They rarely see him with his girlfriend on campus, and they're really dying to know more about their captain's relationship.

Akagi tried his best to say it with a straight face without being flustered.

"(Name) once just held me tight after I walked her home a couple of days ago. She hugged me so hard and told me she feels safe in my arms..."

The rest of the boy's faces went blank.

"SHIT, CAPTAIN AKAGI'S A CINNAMON ROLL!"

".... when I went home I cried of happiness because of that."

"CAPTAIN REALLY IS!!"

Before questions would start to arise, Akagi took the opportunity to spin the bottle.

"AIGHT, MY TURN!!! NYAHAHAHA!!"

Sakugari's the most excited one of them all.

When Sakuragi was listening to his teammate's stories, he was already sorting out all of his thoughts and he came to the most romantic of them all:

"See, (name)-chan likes to sketch and draw..... so on my birthday she gave me a sketch of myself and a handwritten letter!!! She made me feel so special!!"

The rest of the boys clapped. Rukawa did too, surprisingly.

Sakuragi was proud of himself. He loved being loved.

Last, but not the least, our raven-haired silent boy, Rukawa Kaede.

"New Year's Eve."

"Uh-huh."

"(Name) called me."

"...And?"

The boys were at the edge of their seats since Rukawa's just sharing too little.

"DAMMIT, KITSUNE, SAY IT!"

"First thing that (name) said was that she wanted my voice to be the first thing she'll hear for the year."

.... And hearts flew in the air.
