Jaemin was on the side, silently watching his friends having a blast, but his gaze were on particular person.

Renjun was swaying his body as well as hands that put up on the air— Haechan was in the middle and was singing his whole heart. He smiled when Renjun laugh over Haechan who hit his teeth with the mic.

They were all messy but happiness were evident on their faces, Haechan who stopped singing as he was checking his tooth if it's missing or what while Jana was on the floor, laughing as she slam her hand on it while Renjun was laughing beside Haechan, clapping his hand in the process. They all look silly.

His smile slowly fade away when his gaze traveled to their President who’s taking a picture of Renjun— smile were visible on his face as well.

He just met Renjun almost a year now— it actually been a year since he met him, it feels oddly comforting knowing he have known him that period of time. It wasn’t short, but why does he feels like he’s been out of the line? He feels like he never been in line, actually. He's just there, a mere display at the background.

Jaemin felt like Renjun just met Mark, yet the two are like more than a friend now, he can’t help but to get jealous? Or maybe he was just confused with Mark’s entire appearance every time. He just stole Renjun from him as his friend, that kind of feels. He scoffed at that sudden thought, he's going crazy.

Jaemin noticed Mark who went outside as he pressed his phone on his ear— he got up and followed him outside, he can’t ask Renjun just yet, so might as well start with Mark.

“A plane ticket?” Mark was slightly back facing him as he puff a smoke. Too bad, it’s not his style. The after-scent of cigarettes was the most annoying thing ever for Jaemin, how it is so long lasting and it still lingers on his nostrils after some time.

“But would it be better to ask him first? Did you already talk to him?” Jaemin balled his palm into fist, he was fighting himself not to barge in.

“How’s the party last night?.... Dude it’s freaking morning there, you probably still dealing with your hangover…. Go rest…. Renjun’s doing fine, alright, bye.”

Jaemin wait for him to turn around, and when their eyes met, Mark was slightly shocked but he managed to keep his cool anyway.

“Can we talk?” Jaemin asked, straight to his soul as he never leaves his eyes.

Mark passed the cigarette to Jaemin— inviting him to puff a smoke with him, but Jaemin just looked down on it and completely ignored it— reason why Mark grinned.

He put the cigarette on his mouth as he light it up, “What do you want to talk about?” his words was chewed up as the cigarette still stuck on his lips.

“I…” he gulped, he's stuttering for no apparent reason.

Mark blew up the smoke in one go, waiting for Jaemin to finish his sentence, but he just bowed his head instead.

“Never mind,” Jaemin take a step to walk away.

He know he shouldn't deal with any of it when he's still at mess, confuse and not so sure. There will be time for everything, but why does he feels like he's running out of time?

“If you’re asking what am I to Renjun or if you’re curious what was his relationship status, just back up… You ain’t got a chance.” Jaemin stopped on his track after hearing that, but continued walking anyway.

“I know.” he whispered before he finally reached the main entrance.

“You’re going home?” Renjun asked after Jaemin grab his helmet as well as his windbreaker jacket just on his side— almost as harsh as it seems, he just got out of the mood that's why.
