Part 1: the day after
Anoras point of view
I hate the sound of the alarm. Sometimes I wish I could stay in bed forever, but today I can't. I hit that alarm and got up. I take a shower and put on some good decent clothes. I put my hair in a bun because I don't have time to style and blow dry all the way. I grab my "house" keys and purse and run out the door without eating anything.
Driving has been scary to me ever since I was a kid. I don't know why but me behind the wheel doesn't feel right. So I walk. It's not far either way. As I walk I see the coffee shop across the street. I'm really hungry though. I look behind me and it's a bakery.I still have some time so why not get something.
I walk in and there's a man with a black hood reading a book with a chocolate and sprinkle donut next to him, I can't see his face. I turn to see a boy cleaning the counter as if it just opened. He has light brown fluffy hair with headphones on and is about my height but a bit tall. I look to see all the yummy treats. The boy notices me and walks towards me.
"Hello, welcome, what can I help you with?" the boy asked me in a very low but tired voice.
I read his name tag, ethan P.
Ethan's point of view
I had my friend drop me off at work today due to me getting drunk the day before at a party, I was still a tad bit drunk. Who knows what could happen if I drive. I walk in just to see Sammy, my boss and godsister, take the chairs off the tables with her bright short pink hair down.
"Woh, you okay? You look wrecked!" Sammy gasped.
"Don't worry about it. I just had too much at some shitty lame party I was invited to." I grone.
"Well you better be able to work today. '' She walks up to me and hands me a towel to use to wipe down the tables and counters.
...
I have my apron on and I'm listening to music as I help clean up. Sammy sets up the desserts and treats until a man comes in with a book and hood on, I didn't see his face but I do recall glasses.
"Can I get a chocolate donut with sprinkles please." The man asked.
While Sammy gives his donut I go to the back of the counter to clean up. The man then sits down and Sammy taps me and I remove my headphones.
"Take care of the front, ya, I'm just going to the back" Sammy requested.
I nod and put my headphones back on.
A few minutes later I turned to see a beautiful girl with a black coat on and pretty brown hair in a bun. Hopefully I didn't let her wait long.
I took my headphones off and went over to her and asked "hello, welcome, what can I help you with?"
She looks up at me with dark pretty gray eyes looking at mine and asks "how much for a muffin."
"A dollar and twenty five"
She looks at her purse. I can tell her eyes widened as she tries to look for what I assume is her wallet.
"I'm sorry for wasting your time. I don't have any money, I must have left my wallet at home." she says in a low disappointed tone.
As she starts to walk to the door until I say " what if I bought it for you, it's on me really. Just tell me what muffin you want, trust me."
She looks at me shocked but walks to the treats and points to the Banana nut muffin with the pink wrapping. I grab it with a blue napkin and hand it to her.
"Oh thank you so much, what can I do to repay you?" she asked.
"Nothing really." I say but the thing was I did want something, maybe her number or no, her name.
She smiles then looks at the clock on the wall, the smile fades and she runs out the door with no goodbye. Hopefully she comes again, she looks too perfect and pretty to lose. I hear a giggle in the back and I turn around with Sammy behind me with now her hair up.
"Ooo, someone has a crush on a customer!" Sammy giggled as my face turned bright red of embarrassment.
