After the results had been drawn and the places had been announced, the third task was over and Hogwarts was now joint first with Durmstrang. Everyone was buzzing as the day shifter into late afternoon. Harry and Cedric had finally escaped the horde of fans and was now with Oscar and Hermione, walking to greet Oscar's brother and Charlie Weasley to wish them off as they transported the dragons back to Romania. "Hi Charlie." Harry waved at the grinning red head. "Hiya Harry." The two hugged. "So how are you and Diggory? You snogged yet?" Charlie whispering as Harry blushed furiously. Harry punched him in the shoulder as the Weasley laughed. "Hey Charlie. You seen Grey?" Hermione turned her head to a Oscar. "Who's Gray?" She questioned. "He's my brother, I told you I he works with Charlie." Oscar replied. "Er... yeah I think he's with the Chinese fireball." Charlie pointed to a distant red, sleeping dragon. "Thanks, mate." Oscar waved and made his way over to the ferocious beast. "So anyway, nice one you two." Charlie said as he turned back to the others. "And Harry that broom flying were wicked." Charlie said grinning enthusiastically. "Yes it was." Cedric said nudging the young Gryffindor. "Thanks you lot, I swear though, no offence Charlie but why the hell would you want to go near those things." Harry laughed but still a little on edge by how close they were to the Horntail who only a few moments ago tried to unalive him. The group joked and laughed about a great many things (mostly the tasks and dragons). However there was someone not so happy, that was not that far away. "Hey Gray." Oscar said rapping his arms around his brother. However he was shocked when the hug wasn't returned. Surprised he let go and looked at his brother. "Why aren't you hugging me back? Is something wrong?" Oscar asked slightly worried and upset. "You need to leave." Gray said flatly. "WHA- WHY?!?" Oscar exclaimed feeling hurt as he hadn't seen his brother in over a year. "Just trust me ok. Just... get lost." Gray said with a pained expression. "ARE YOY SERIOUS?! I HAVEN'T SEEN YOU IN JUST OVER A YEAR AND YOU'RE JUST GONNA TELL ME TO LEAVE?! WHY?!" Oscar said, fury billowing into his voice, as angry tears started to form. "Just leave it's not safe." "Why?!" Oscar repeated. "JUST FUCKING GO!" Gray yelled. Suddenly Oscar's face darkened as he did his famous death glare. "Gray Aiden Lynch, you give me a goddamn reason this instant." Oscar said deadly calmly sending shivers up his brother's spine. Suddenly Grays face snapped into a scowl, the face of his brother was almost unrecognisable. All the humanity just gone... it was still him but it wasn't... "Marvellous creatures aren't they dragons." He whispered eyeing the beast's shackles. "W-what are you talking about?" Oscar said his voice full of terror. His brother raised his wand at the shackle, a terrible look on his face. "No stop, what... what are you doing." Visibly afraid of what was about to happen, he ran to his brother trying to shove him aside to avoid what was about to transpire, but it was to late. "NOW!" Gray cried. Out of thin air, many figures dressed in black with faces hidden by literal death (skulls) appeared. All firing spells at the beast's shackles. The beast awoke with a roar, gaining the attention of everyone around, fire spitting from its nostrils as it opened it's burning eyes. "NO! What are you doing." Oscar screamed as he flicked his wand, sending a stinging hex at one of the figures as they staggered to the ground. The masked figures and Gray turned to Oscar, although he couldn't see their eyes he could tell there was no remorse. The dragon flicked its muscles and rose. With a finally roar it rose to its full height, sending trees into the air as the sound was like that of a hurricane. Oscar was overwhelmed with shouting and commotion. Spells being fired back and forth. In the haze he fired a stunning spell hitting another one of the black figures, only to be hit in the chest with something hot, that pierced his body like a knife. Falling back some arms embraced him from behind, stopping his fall. The last thing he saw was his brother looking at him with madness and insanity as he began to run. He had hexed him! He had hurt him. With a thought of painful betrayal he blacked out in the person's arms.

Waking up he heard the sound of arguing. Just constant arguing. His eyes shot open as he grabbed his wand, and raised it up in a threatening manner. "Woah, woah easy there." Oscar turned to see Harry looking at him with concern. "My brother... death eaters? Dragon? Pain..." Oscar mumbled as a head splitting headache washed over him. "Yeah, yeah. Erm you were jinxed so I caught you and brought you back to here. Don't worry everyone is fine and the dragon was handled." Harry soothed, trying his best to calm the Slytherin down. "What about the death eaters?" Oscar questioned. "We got four of the six that came. Hey you took out two for us!" Harry laughed trying to lift the spirits of Oscar. "Harry..." "yeah..." "what happened to my brother?" Harry sighed knowing this would come up. "He was... he was caught with them as the escaped to the forbidden forest. They can't apperate out so the ministry and Dumbledore are working to try and capture them." Oscar groaned that knowing that somehow his brother was involved in this. "Speaking of which. How the hell did they apperate in? Isn't Hogwarts designed so you can't do that?" Oscar asked. "Because of the third task they had to lower the defence spells so that they could move the dragons safely." Oscar gasped incredulously at the thought of how fucking lazy these group of wizards were. "So what you're saying is they couldn't be bothered to get off their fat asses and move the dragons the old fashioned way?" Oscar sneered, anger now visibly in his face. "Erm... well yeah." Harry stammered, slightly taken aback by the thought. Suddenly the door to the room flew open and several shouting could be heard. A hand grabbed Oscar's collar and hoisted him up. A blind rage entered Oscar's mind and suddenly the hand let go of Oscar. As he fell to his knees, he heard a loud crash on the opposite side of the room, followed by a yell of pain. The room stood silent. As Oscar's vision focused he could see Harry, Oliver, Dumbledore, Charlie, a few wizards that must have been Auros and Mr Crouch, staring at him in complete shock. Before blacking out once more. This time he woke up even more shouting which was followed by a hush. "Wha-what happened?" Oscar muttered clutching his head. "You gave Mr crouch a mild injury when you flung him across the room that is what happened." Moody laughed which earned him some glares. "THE BOY SHOULD BE PUT ON TRIAL!" One of the said. "HE CLEARLY IS PRACTICING DARK MAGIC!" "HE ASSAULTED MY CROUCH!" "HIS BROTHER HAS BEEN CONSPIRING WITH KNOWN DEATH EATERS! WHAT'S TO SAY HE IS NOT THE SAME?!" Another cried, which was met with angry nods and statements of agreement. "I'm sorry who's school is this?" Dumbledore said sassily. "That doesn't matter he the boy is still-" Crouch was cut off by Dumbledore raising his hand for silence. "Yes but who's school is this?" Crouch was about to protest before bowing his head. "Yours." He said through gritted teeth. "OH IS IT?! Didn't realise. Well then I guess it's up to me what happens to him." Dumbledore said again with his usual sassy tone. "No Dumbledore. Can you not see the danger of this boy and how he has just broken the law?" Crouch shouted incredulously. "Honey like you said this is my school. And I'm this school I am the law. So why don't you sit down pumpkin? M-kay?" Dumbledore winked at the stunned Mr Crouch. Going red Mr Crouch sat down completely embarrassed and on silent fury. "Now then..." Dumbledore said calmly turning to Oscar. "CHILD ARE YOU INVOLVED WITH YOUR BROTHER?! WHAT DO YOU KNOW?! HOW DID YOU PERFORM SUCH MAGIC. TELL ME!" Dumbledore shouted even louder than Crouch as he harassed Oscar. "I DON'T KNOW ANYTHING JESUS I'M FOURTEEN!" Oscar yelled back. "Alright no need to shout." Dumbledore said as he flicked his beard of his shoulder and pouted. "Well then we need to hunt these people down. And personally I believe it would be much more dramatic and entertaining if we did it at night. You know like set the scene." Dumbledore said his eyes sparking as everyone in the room was dumbfounded at what they were hearing and witnessing. "Right then Grouchy Crouchy you go with your goons as a team. M-kay dearest. Me and my besties Minnie and Sev will be another team." Dumbledore said as he clapped his hand together in silence. Crouch got up with a malicious grin. "Perhaps it would be prudent if Mr Lynch would also go to draw out his brother and perhaps deescalate the situation." He said coldly while putting on an innocent face. "That is an amaze idea Grouchy Crouchy. Right Oscar you got with that Megan friend of yours and we all meet up at Hagrid's hut at say nine. Then after we can all get drinks. Honestly I'm gonna be smashed." Dumbledore said excitedly as he rushed out the door to tell Minerva and Severus (Mcgonagall and Snape). The rest of the group stood there until Mr crouch straitened his hat and left with the other wizards. Nodding Moody left, leaving Harry, Oliver and Oscar alone. "Hey you ok?" Oliver said coming over to embrace Oscar, but was stunned when Oscar shrugged his hand off and grabbed his bags to leave with Harry. "Come on Harry I think it's time for breakfast let's go." Oscar said angrily. Slightly afraid Harry just nodded and followed, leaving a slightly hurt Oliver alone.
On their way to breakfast Harry stopped Oscar. "Hey what was that about with Oliver?" Harry said slightly afraid of what Oscar was about to do. "Nothing I'm fine." Oscar stated before trying to continue. "You sure you don't seem fi-" "HARRY I SAID I'M FINE OK! So let's just... go get some breakfast." Harry inclined his head and sighed following the very angry Slytherin into the great hall. Oscar sat at the Ravenclaw table with Megan and some other Beauxbatons students, whereas Harry sat with Hermione and Ginny. "Why do you look so grim?" Hermione questioned. Reluctantly Harry told them everything, about Gray and the Death eaters, the incident between Oscar and Mr Crouch, the plan. Hermione's eyes widened eyeing Oscar she whispered. "Do you think he's also a death eater?" Harry almost felt like smacking Hermione. "WHAT! No, honestly Hermione why would you think that." Hermione pursed her lips, "well his brother is a death eater who is working with other death eaters, he seems to be prone to dark magic, and you've just told me that he assaulted a high ranking Ministry official, so... can you blame me." Harry thought for a moment at these words and realised, wow he really could be a death eater, but Oscar wouldn't be right? Right? On the Ravenclaw table Oscar was discreetly telling Megan all that had transpired. "You have got to be kidding me! How dare they put you and me in the position! Have they no souls?" Megan exclaimed disgusted at these turn of events. "Shhh... keep it down." Oscar whispered. "But yeah they have put me in a position without regarding any of my feelings and I'm so sorry I've dragged you into this. You're now unsafe and in this position because of me." Oscar said putting his head on the table overwhelmed by the guilt. "Hey no. It's ok. But..." She said mysteriously, making Oscar look up to be met with a massive grin from Megan. "Let's talk about how you assaulted a high ranking Ministry member." She laughed making Oscar bust out laughing. "To say I'm proud to be your friend is an understatement." Megan said through laughter. "I'm sorry but I have to admit it was an iconic moment." Oscar replied wiping tears from his eyes. Suddenly everyone heard to screeches and hoots. "Oh post is here." Said Oscar as the pair calmed down. "Post?" Megan asked curiously. "Oh yeah at Hogwarts we have a post day where we receive packages from people, mostly home." Oscar replied eyeing a beautiful black owl through the haze of feathers and wings. Oscar became visibly perplexed by seeing that owl had a large package that was... moving? No it was vigorously moving he could also hear hissing and growling. As packages and letters were dropped the owl soured close to the table and dropped it landing lightly, however making a large thud, knocking off plates of food. Oscar could hear faint gasps and snickers as eyes darted to him. He could here movement and scraping sounds within the package, and an even louder growling. It sounded like... meowing? His eyes widen and his mouth dropped open before smiling, he'd recognise that meow anywhere. "I'm going to kill my parents..." he whispered to himself. "WHAT?!? Why?" Megan exclaimed. "If it's what I think it is. And don't get me wrong I hope it is. I will kill my parents for what they did my child." Megan slammed her hands onto the table. "CHILD?!? YOU HAVE CHILD?!?" Megan shouted turning heads all over. "Will you sit down no! I don't literally have a child but I just call what I think is in this package my child." Megan took a moment to process. "What's inside." She finally said, excitement building up inside. "Wanna open it with me and see?" Oscar said and smiled at the quick nod from his friend. The pair quickly opened the box. Cutting tap and ripping paper. Until finally there was a plain cardboard box. Taking a deep breathe Oscar opened the box and squealed with excitement. "OH MY GOD MOG! IT IS YOU!" Oscar squealed the happiest he has ever been since joining this tedious school. "Oscar, not that it's nice to see you happy. But... that's a cat." Megan said still surprised. "She's not just a cat she's my familiar. Oscar said as the cat jumped over onto his shoulder purring and nuzzling against Oscar's face. The cat was grey and white and had the softest fur with piercing amber, green eyes. The others watched in dismay as the cat began to pur loudly. "She is so cute. I'm so jealous my familiar is back in France." Megan grumbled, putting her head on her crossed arms. Looking up she smirked. "Oh hey, lover boy is coming over." She gestured to an upcoming Oliver. "Oh god." Oscar grumbled . Getting up and shouldering his bag while Mog still rested on the other. "Oscar?"
"Mhm" Oscar mumbled as he quickened his pace out of the great hall. "Oscar? Why are you avoiding me." Oliver said chasing after the Slytherin. "I'm not avoiding you." Oscar snapped, continuing to quicken his pace and not making eye contact with Oliver. "Can you just please tell me why you're angry?" Oliver said grabbing Oscar and spinning him around. "GET YOUR HANDS OFF ME!" Oscar yelled as Mog began to death glare Oliver. "I'M FINE JUST LEAVE ME ALONE OLIVER!" Oscar shouted. "Not until you tell me what's wrong." Tightening his grip on Oscar's arm. "You wanna know? You wanna know Oliver? FINE! Let's have a chat." Oscar coldly said freeing himself from Oliver's grip. "I'm angry at you ok?" Oscar snapped at a stunned Oliver. "Me? Why?" Oliver questioned. "Because as I was being hung in the air by that BASTARD CROUCH! You just say there and watched without even a flicker of worry on your face." Oscar said holding back tears starting to form in his eyes. "I was worried. And how can you say that. What if our places had been switched? What would you have done if you were me?" Oliver said slowly getting sadder and angrier, but mostly sadder. "YOU KIDDING? THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN KILLING CURSES BEING FLUNG AROUND LEFT, RIGHT AND CENTRE!" Oscar screamed. "I WOULD HAVE AVARDA KEDABRAD HIS SORRY ASS!" Oscar continued. Oliver gasped and covered his boyfriend's mouth. "Don't say such things." Oliver whispered. Smacking his hand away Oscar glared at Oliver as Mog hissed violently at him. "You are such a coward Oliver. Just leave me be." Oscar said turning away. And running off livid, leaving a saddened Oliver to himself.
Hours had passed and the school bell rang nine. Pushing the emotions down Oscar travelled to Hagrid's hut accompanied with Megan. "So we're really doing this." Megan whistled trying to start conversation. "Yes we are... I-I... I'm glad you're here."
"No problem." Megan replied with a small smile. Arriving at the hut Dumbledore turned to them. "OH MY GOD HI! NOW IT'S A PARTY!" Dumbledore squealed before he was smacked in the back of the head by Mcgonagall. "OWW! Minnie why did you do that?" Dumbledore bellowed. "You are being so insensitive, this child is about to hunt down a bunch of death eaters and his own brother." Minerva bellowed even louder. Dumbledore pouted before Mr Crouch finally arose and got the attention of everyone. "Alright everyone. We are currently hunting down several known death eaters. Minerva, Dumbledore and Snape you will be a team. Myself and my associates will be another. And finally Mr Lynch and Miss Robinette shall be another team. Our job will is to capture these fugitives. If you have them send up green sparx. If something happens or you need backup then send red sparx up in the sky. Are we clear?" Crouch eyed Oscar and Megan. The group nodded and they all made their way into the forest.
The air went cold, their breathe like ice in the wind. The trees were deathly still as if awaiting something. At the sound of everything from a snap of a twig to the squawk of a crow, made the duo jump. "What will we do? You know if we find them?" Megan whispered trying not to show visible fear. "Not die?" Oscar sarcastically retorted making the pair chuckle. "Fair enough." Megan replied stifling her laugh.

Hours had passed, and the two were losing hope at finding Gray before the others did. Until finally we're met with foreshadowing silence. To them the world was standing still. There's was not a sound. All there was, was their breathe and the trees. The place darkened as the two became more on edge. Until behind them they heard slow, terrifying steps. A chill went up Oscar's spine, already knowing who it was. Turning around he met the scary gaze of his brother. It was like looking into the eyes of a rabid beast. He was even frothing at the mouth. "Gray..." Oscar said becoming more and more terrified at the sight. "It's ok it's me... you don't have to be afraid. J-just drop your wand and we can talk about this." Oscar raised his hands to signal peace. Yet Gray did not change. Beginning to raise his wand directly at Oscar. "No stop- please. Just... talk to me." Oscar protested as his voice began to crack from crying. "STUPIFY!" Cried Megan from behind. Quickly shielding himself with a spell Gray began to approach. "Avarda-" before he could utter the incantation, something dropped onto Gray's head hissing and growling furiously as it bit down and sunk it's claws into a screaming Gray's head. Finally after moments of thrashing Gray yanked the animal off his head and threw it to the ground. "MOG!?" Oscar screamed in surprise but fear. Raising his wand again only this time at Mog. But before Oscar could even blink, green lighting shot out of Gray's wand. The green spell struck Mog in the heart. It enveloped the cat as she whined in pain before dropping dead and silent. Screaming Oscar ran to the cat begging her not to be dead. But alas despite the shaking Mog's body lay lifeless. Crying Oscar looked up at his brother. "HOW COULD YOU!? YOU KNEW SHE WAS MY FAMILIAR!" Oscar cried looking at his brother, the love he felt for him now gone. To Oscar, Gray was nothing. However Gray just stared at Oscar with the same murderous intent. He raised his wand and sent another killing curse this time at Oscar. Diving to the side, Oscar narrowly missed it. Then stood up almost being hit by a second curse. The two looked at each other. Then suddenly a hatred built up within Oscar's heart. It burned in his vanes, it enveloped all around him, binding itself to his very being, it was like a primal rage. Gray looked at his brother and raised his wand... for the last time... "AVARDA KEDAB-" before he could finish, Oscar's defence instincts kicked in. Time slowed down, once again. In his fury, this time Oscar did not fight it. He glared at Gray, feeling his eyes burn. Suddenly, time snapped back and a force pushed Gray back and sent him through the air. With force Gray was smashed against a tree and fell to the ground. Finally taking a breath, Oscar realised what he had done. He cried and ran over to his brother. On close inspection he gasped holding back a cry of pain at seeing that his brother's neck had snapped. "OH MY GOD WHAT HAVE I DONE?" He cried. Putting a finger on his brother's neck. There was no pulse. Megan snapped out of her shock and ran over to hug her friend. "You were defending yourself. It isn't your fault ok." She said embracing him. "Yes it is. AND IT WAS ALL BECAUSE OF DUMBLEDORE AND THE MINISTRY!" Oscar screamed into the night, loud enough to be heard by all that walked and lived in the forest. Megan wiped away a tear and got up. Raising her wand in the air she shouted, "PARIKULAM!" She got back done and hugged her friend. Suddenly Oscar felt something soft rub against his hand. Opening his eyes he almost choked with happiness and remorse. "Mog?!?" He whispered through his tears. He grabbed the whining cat and embraced it. The three hugging intently. Soon the two other groups arrived with the other death eaters out cold and tied up. "Oh my god..." Minerva said almost crying. Megan and Oscar soon fainted from the sheer terror, stress and effort. And the blackness enveloped them.

Oscar awoke with a start, to be fussed with hands. Smacking them away he looked up to see an offended Madam Pomfrey. She strutted off muttering to herself. He felt a sleeping Mog next to him and he couldn't help but smile. Suddenly someone gasped. Oscar looked over to see that Megan had just woken up. Suddenly (once again) Dumbledore and many others burst in harassing them both with questions. Until there was silence, and with a shaky breath Oscar finally spoke, "my brother is dead... because of you... because of me..." Oscar whispered, the events of the night before came flooding back to him. He got up as did Mog and the two stormed out of there, angry tears forming in his eyes. The adults looked like they were about to protest and follow until Megan got their attention, "I think you've done enough. And you should leave him alone." She said coldly sending shivers and feelings of guilt through them. Then the doors slammed behind them and Oscar had left the hospital wing. He would never trust anyone but Megan and Mog again...
