"Good morning." A tall man with a white beard greeted him as he leaned over bilbo.

"Good morning. Who are you?"  Bilbo asked as he sat up from where he was lying in his garden.

"Ah, you must not remember me. My name is Gandalf the Grey. I was a friend of your mother." Gandalf said as he smiled at the hobbit.

"Gandalf? The wizard who used to accompany my mother on her adventures?" Bilbo asked, looking up at the wizard.

"Indeed it is I. You must be bilbo, I remember when I last saw you when you were a faunt." Gandalf he replied.

Bilbo stared at the wizard, trying to remember him. Biblo gave up with a sigh, and he looked up to meet the wizard's eyes.

"I'm looking for a hobbit to join me and my companions for an adventure. Would you care to join us?" Gandalf asked.

"I don't know, I can not leave Bag end," Bilbo replied, unsure.

"Some dwarrow will arrive later at night," Gandalf said, ignoring Bilbo's previous answer.

"I can not say I will join this adventure just yet, but I will let these 'dwarrow' stay at Bag end for the night," Bilbo replied. Gandalf nodded and left.

What a peculiar fellow...

Bilbo thought as he shrugged. He's a 51-year-old hobbit. He can not go on childish adventures. He went to his kitchen to prepare for his guests for tonight.

"Hmm, it seems like I'm in need of some fruits for the salads and some seasonings for the meat," Bilbo said to himself as he ventured into his back garden. He put his hand on the soil of his garden and pushed some of his power into the soil. Almost instantly, carrots, cabbages, and tomatoes started sprouting out of the ground.  Bilbo smiled as he grabbed his basket to place the vegetables in.

After a few minutes, he finally got everything he needed and started cooking. He cooked, salads, fish, some pork, and soup. He prepared a feast, big enough to feed a family of six hobbits. The smell from the kitchen seemed to also attract some animals. Bilbo was used to animals approaching him while he cooked so whenever he was preparing the food he always gave some to the animals.

Bilbo was preparing the table when all of a sudden there was a knock on his door.

"That must be them." He said as he rushed to the door. Bilbo opened the door only to be greeted by a dwarf with a pair of massive battle axes.

"Dwalin." The dwarf grunted as he introduced himself.

Bilbo mentally slapped himself, getting over his initial shock. "Bilbo Baggins at your service. Come, you must be hungry. There's food in the kitchen." Bilbo said as Dwalin set his weapons down.

Bilbo led Dwalin to the kitchen and gave him a plate. The dwarf grunted as he sat down and ate the feast bilbo prepared. Bilbo was about to speak when there was a knock on his door again. He left to go open it.

Within an hour, there was a total of 12 dwarrow and a wizard in his home. Bilbo stared at the chaos ensuing in his home. Plates were being tossed around, mud was on the floor and ale was everywhere. Bilbo was glad that he didn't use his mother's China that night.
