Sometime Later

The boat became shrouded in a thick fog.

"Hmmm, so this is why it's called 'Hidden Mist Village,'" said Inojin, staring out over the deck.

"I see, the name implies that it is literally hidden by the mist!" Metal added.

Their deductions were spot on. The mist surrounding the village was tremendously dense. It encompassed the village in its entirety, hiding it from view.

Sarada was impressed that the ship captain was able to continue guiding the boat forward. It was accurate to say that the fog also functioned like a defense mechanism, confusing any approaching enemies.

But after they realized that the fog completely took away the beautiful scenery, her classmates got bored. Even the ones who showed the most enthusiasm at first were complaining after a few hours of seeing nothing but fog. Sarada didn't blame the boys for forming a group just to whine.

It wasn't until night had passed and daybreak rose above the horizon that the situation around them changed.

Boruto, who had gone to get a breath of fresh air, returned to the cabin all excited. "Hey! Come on, you have to come look outside!"

"Huh? What is it?"

"Come on, just follow me already! I'm telling you, it's awesome!"

Boruto pulled Sarada with unprecedented vigor out onto the deck against her will.

"Huh?"

The fog had become noticeably thinner. But it wasn't the clearing of the fog that had captured Sarada's attention. It was the glittering brilliance beyond the expanse of ocean.

"See? What did I tell you. Awesome, right?"

"...Yeah..." It seemed like all she could do was nod her head in agreement. The scenery before her surpassed her imagination. Spread out in front of them was an enormous city, blinking lights in all its glory and splendor.

She thought the Village of the Mist was supposed to be countryside. More accurately, she somehow believed that her own village was the most technologically advanced village out there.

But now, she was looking at numerous skyscrapers stretching towards the sky. Ships lining a port, coming to and fro with bountiful goods, stacked in boxes and crates that were waiting to be unloaded. And what was more, everything was shining in a way that could only be described as beautiful.

It was the first time Sarada's mind had been completely changed in such a short period of time.

"Even though we heard it was supposed to be countryside." From behind her, she could hear her friend's voices. All of them seemed to be astonished at how different the reality was from what they had imagined.

"To think, that this place was even more modern than Konoha..."

While Sarada, Boruto, and the rest of their classmates were gaping at the new revelation, the ship entered the port.
