The curtain opened on a new day.

Sarada was relaxing in the mist that came with morning. Other students were here and there in the Hotel's Garden, putting in their best effort to train. Someone once said that if you neglect your training for a day, you'll lose three days of progress. Even while on vacation, if one is afraid that their ability will decline, they have no choice but to set aside time to hone their skills.

The only people who had the freedom not to train were probably Boruto, who mastered shadow clone jutsu like it was a cakewalk, and Inojin who drew pictures on a daily basis.

"Even still, this is some thick fog," Sarada murmured aloud, putting thoughts of relaxing behind her.

The surrounding area was so foggy that she couldn't see anything save for the outlines of people training. It was impossible to tell who was who. Metal was the only exception; his energy and enthusiasm far outweighed the others.

The morning light dyed the surrounding mist in a blood-red hue. Perhaps the title, "Village of the Bloody Mist," didn't only come from the village's past. In fact, Sarada heard that every day during sunrise and sunset, there was a brief period of time when the mist would turn crimson like it was now.

...Yesterday evening, it was the same.

Even though it didn't bother her at all the day before, today the "bloody" mist was making Sarada feel a bit uneasy.

"I wonder why that is..." Without thinking, the words leaked out of her mouth.

"Something wrong?"

Sarada turned around to face the owner of the new voice. The particular tone signaled her that it was none other than her obstreperous childhood friend. Boruto.

"Morning. Whatcha up to?"

"...Morning. I'm about to start training. But I could say the same to you. What're you doing," asked Sarada as she wiped a bit of sweat from her forehead.

Taking Boruto's personality into consideration, it was highly unlikely that he was doing anything resembling training. He was also up late the night before screwing around with his friends, so the possibility that he would be awake this early in the morning didn't even cross Sarada's mind.

"Well, I was actually called out by Kagura," said Boruto with a ginormous yawn.

"At this time of day?"

"I got a call in my hotel room. He said he really wanted me to come down if I could make it."

There wasn't a single hint of nervousness in his voice. It seemed like he hadn't caused any problems that would have gotten him in trouble with Kagura.

"You guys are really getting along well so far."

"Ahh, Kagura is just a good guy." Boruto turned towards Sarada with a carefree smile.

At that, Sarada felt a tinge of jealousy from Boruto making a new friend. She couldn't open up to new people easily at all. Boruto had a free-spirited personality and assertive nature that allowed him to get along with anyone. To Sarada, that personality trait was like a rare treasure that was hard to come by.

"Good for you. Usually, that kind of thing is troublesome and difficult to do."

On top of being jealous of his ability to make friends, she was also jealous that he could laugh as heartily as he was laughing now.

"It is really though?"

There were times when she had to remind him to reign in his carefree attitude, as much as she appreciated it. "Remember to keep an eye on the time. Just because there isn't any roll call this morning doesn't mean you can laze around all day."

Today was the one day on their trip they were free to do whatever they wanted. It was a completely free day. Some of the students already left to see the sunset at famous overlook spots. Sarada was planning to go with Cho-Cho and the others to see one of the largest temples in The Village of the Mist and try some Shoujin food.

"Ya don't gotta tell me twice. See ya in a little while," he said, turning away with a light wave of his hand.

Sarada could only sigh at his easygoing attitude as he disappeared into the mist.
