Seb was struck dumb. He didn't know what to say. Pregnant! Immy was pregnant! He began to shake, totally shocked by the revelation.

He listened as Immy told the doctor that she'd had a period since last having sex, and the doctor asking her if it had been lighter than usual.

"Yes, it was extremely light," Immy had replied.

"That is perfectly normal," the doctor said. "We'd like to admit you to our prenatal ward for a couple of days. We can continue with the drip for rehydration, and we can also administer some anti sickness drugs."

"But I have a son..."

"Immy, I am quite capable of looking after Noah by myself," Seb said, finally able to speak. "I would have been if you'd have stayed in the U.K. You need to listen to the doctor. Getting you well is the most important thing."

Immy nodded. She was struggling to come to terms with the news that she was pregnant again. Noah was only just over six months old. She'd been on the mini pill. She hadn't missed one. She'd thought there was no chance that she could be pregnant, especially after the bleeding she'd had.

"I'll make the arrangements. Meanwhile, congratulations."

The doctor left the room, leaving Seb and Immy alone, apart from Noah, who was still asleep.

Immy began to panic. What did Seb think to their news? His expression was unreadable. Was he happy? Was he indifferent? Was he annoyed? Did he feel trapped?

"I'm sorry. I didn't have a clue. I had sickness before, but not like this. I didn't miss a pill, I swear I didn't." All her emotions hit her at once. She began to cry. How was she going to cope with another baby? Noah would only just have turned one when it was born. How was she going to cope with Noah if she had this sickness? How long did this sickness last? Would it be for her whole pregnancy? She had so many questions.

Seb was immediately there for her. He sat on the edge of the bed and wrapped his arms around her. "Shhh meine schneeflocke. It will be ok."

"How will I cope?"

"You don't have to cope alone. You have me. I will be there for you. You won't have to do it alone. This time I will be there every step of the way." He loosened his hold on Immy and moved one of his hands onto her flat tummy. "Another baby. Our baby. And it will be just as much loved as Noah is."

Immy looked at his face. His unreadable expression had transformed into the biggest smile. "This baby is a blessing Immy."  He was happy! Immy half smiled at him.  She was happy too, she just felt so sick, tired and worried about how the rest of the pregnancy would be.

"I can't believe it," she said. "Noah will only just have turned one. Oh shit, what if I'm further gone and it will be born before he's one?"

"Immy, please don't panic.   We will soon find out when it's due. Let's just enjoy this moment, yes?"  Immy nodded.  Seb pressed a kiss to her forehead.

Immy wondered how they were going to do this. With Noah they'd been together, she'd not been a single mother from the day he was born until six weeks ago.
Could co parenting work when they'd be living in different countries?

As if Seb could read her mind, he began to speak.   "You could move back here permanently.  The house is big enough.   I could get you your own car so you're not trapped here all the time."

Immy wanted to say yes, but she couldn't.   How could she live with him when she still loved him so much? He didn't want her that way any more. What if he got a new girlfriend?
