"Now that we have everyone I'll let you all know where it is that we're going." I said into the radio. "We're headed to the old Cresson State Prison."
"Sounds good to me." Nick replied
"You're the leader." Tyler said
We all got into our trucks and left the house and we were on our way to our new home.
We finally made our way out of Milanville and entered a small town called Beach Lake. There was a few zombies but no major threat so we just drove past them thinking they'd forget about us in a few minutes.
"The last bit of daylight for the day is in about 20 minutes, should we stop to eat before dark?" Heather asked.
"We can if you want to baby." I replied
"I think we should." She said.
I found a parking lot for a small amusement park that had picnic tables set up and we all parked there. I got out of the truck and went back the bed and opened the cover and pulled out the food tote along with our stove and set them on one of the tables
"What kinds of food do we have left?" Heather asked.
I started digging through the tote and pulling out various items, "Not that much, it's mainly rice, beans, a few more cans of ravioli. We have enough to get us through about another 3 or 4 days."
"What do we tell everyone when we run out of food?" She asked, whispering trying to hide the urgency from everyone.
"Babe, we won't run out of food, we can hunt to get meat, we can plant seeds and grow food. We will be ok." I reasurred her.
"Ok, I love you honey." Heather said.
"I love you too." I replied
I opened the last cans of ravioli we had and poured them into a pot and set it on the stove.
"We got company coming." Tyler shouted, pointing to the few zombies we passed earlier. They managed to catch up with us and they were now coming into the parking lot.
"Don't bother wasting ammo, it's only 5 zombies." I said, pulling my machete out of its holder.
Tyler, Nick and I walked over to the zombies and quickly took them out and dragged the bodies off to the side and dropped matches on them, We stood there for a little bit watching the bodies burn before we went back to what we were doing before.
I finished cooking the food and called everyone over to eat as I handed out plates of ravioli. We all sat down at the tables and ate as the sun slowly went down behind the mountains. We finished eating and I told everyone the plan for what we were doing now
"Here's how things are going to go down, we get in the trucks and we go to the prison, no stopping for any reason unless its a absolute emergency. We've seen that these things hide and they attack in large groups most of the time."
Everyone nodded in agreement and we all got back in our trucks, ready for the final stretch.
I pulled out of the parking lot and everyone followed. We started making our way towards the highway guided by our headlights. As we were driving down the road I felt a slight vibration through the floor of the truck.
"What the hell?" I said out loud to myself.
"What's the matter babe?" Heather asked me.
"Did you feel that?" I questioned.
"Feel what?"
The truck vibrated again, this time more violently.
"What the hell was that?" Heather asked.
"I have an idea of what it was and it isn't going to be fun." I replied.
Just then Tyler's and Nick's voice came through the radio at the same time, both asking the same question.
"Did you guys feel a vibration?"
I picked up the mic, "Yeah, we have a idea of what it is and it's not a fun idea."
Heather began fratically looking out all of the windows searching for the cause of the shaking, but she didn't find anything.
"Maybe it's just a earthquake this time." She said optimistcally.
She barely finished her sentance before I slammed on the brakes and the truck came screeching to a stop, with everyone slamming on they're brakes behind us.
Infront of us stood a massive army of zombies, and no regular zombies, just the mutant ones, several hundred bombers. a few screamers, a hundred or so sprinters and a dozen juggernaughts. They were facing away from us and seemed unaware that we were behind them. They were all huddled up just standing in the road, motionless.
I picked up the mic, "Everyone turn around, we're not making it through this."
I put the truck in reverse and we all started backing down the road. We got about 400 feet awat from them when we heard one of the screamers doing the signiture high pitched scream, they all turned around and stared at us for a second before they started charging at us.
"FUCK!" I yelled.
We turned around as fast as possible and we were driving away from them as fast as possible but they eveolved again and they were too fast. They were catching up to us.
"Come on, you can do this baby." I said to the truck as I mashed the pedal to the floor, rowing through the gears.
We kept speeding up until the truck was going as fast as it could. The zombies weren't catching up anymore but they weren't falling behind either.
I picked up the mic, "Change of plans, at the end of the this road is a bridge that goes into New york, we don't have a choice, we have to go to New York."
"Copy." Nick said.
"We're following your lead." Tiffany said.
We flew down the road until we reached the bridge and we went into New York.
Up ahead there was a big factory looking building with all the lights on and smoke coming out of the chimney. I flew into the parking lot of the building and everyone followed.
"GO, GO, GO, GET INSIDE!" I shouted waving everyone towards the building as the zombies contined coming towards us.
