Y/N
I was out at the grocery store gathering a few things for my apartment. I had been following the news for the past 2 days and they mentioned we'd be getting some bad weather possible of causing power outages and flooding, so I wanted to make sure I was prepared. I grabbed some basic storm necessities like flashlights, batteries, water, etc..
I was originally from Florida relocating to San Francisco for nursing school, so I was no stranger to storm and wet weather. I knew very well how to properly prepare for what's to come. I've been in the bay for a little over 3 years now and I've honestly loved every bit of it.
Once I finished my grocery shopping and getting every thing I needed, I put the bags into my trunk, making my way back home before the storm begin. The sky literally looked like it was about to fall at any given moment and I did not want no parts in being stuck in this nasty weather.
Once I made it home I put the groceries away, looking at the time I seen it was '6:30' so, I begin to cook a small dinner for the night. I decided on making baked chicken, white rice, broccoli, and buttered rolls. It was something quick yet very very effective to cure my hunger. As I was cooking I head a loud crackle of thunder causing me to jump extremely hard. Although I was used to rainstorms, they still scare the hell out of me. Back home I would literally lay in my parents room when it stormed.
I finished up my dinner and begin making my plate when there was a knock on my door. I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion, who the hell is knocking on my door and it pouring down outside? I asked myself. Making my way to my front door I unlocked it, standing there was my long time friend Jordan Poole drenched.
He and I met at the hospital when I first moved here. I was in clinical and he came in to get some test ran after feeling extremely sick for 2 days. I was his nurse and after the visit we exchange numbers and have been close friends ever since.
"Jordan, boy what the hell, why are you out in this weather?" I asked, gabbing his arm pulling him inside and locking the door.
"I was leaving Chase Center after having a solo practice, I knew it was going to rain, but not as bad as it is, so I came here because your place was closer than mine." He said.
"Okay that's fine, but hurry and get out those wet clothes before you get sick." I said to him.
He nodded his head and made his way to my guest bedroom to get himself together. Luckily I made enough food that I could share with Jordan, so I plated him some food as well. I left his food on the counter and took a seat at my island turning on my kitchen tv for background noise as I begin to eat and scroll on my phone.
"You definitely could've waited for me before you start eating." Jordan said walking into the kitchen and mushing my head.
"You're right I could've, but guess what.... I didn't." I said smiling at him
"You have such a slick ass mouth sometimes." He said shaking his head chuckling.
"And have yet to meet a nigga that can tame it." I said smartly.
"Yeah okay Y/N, you gone meet him soon I'm sure." He replied.
Jordan and I continued to talk as we ate our food, and decided to use our time playing games since the wireless and wifi reception was bad due to the weather. We played Uno, Connect Four, Checkers, and even Concentration 64. I can honestly say I was enjoying this time with Jordan. He was a character. We were exact opposites though; he was outgoing and a jokester while I was more reserved and observant. It took a while for me to open up to our friendship, but he made it so easy and comfortable.
