Chapter Seven - Beetle Fights

Gorou finally took his disguise off and went back to Watatsumi Island. He was very tired from all the events on that day. The date with Itto really questioned his sexuality and made him think of many, many things.

He soon arrived back to the camp and slowly walked to his door. He was sharing a small house with Itto which he completely forgot about as he almost rushed inside and jumped onto his bed to rest. But before he could do that, Itto stood in his way.

"GENERAL! YOU'RE ALIVE!" he picked him up suddenly and hugged him tightly. "I was soooo worried about you, buddy!"

"I-Itto-!" he screamed up as he realized they're actually sharing a room.

His face heated up from the embrace and he immediately shook him off of himself.

"I'm tired right now." he apologized and sat down onto his bed.

"Had a rough day? I get it. It's okay." Itto smiled at him softly. "I'm just glad you're back."

Gorou looked back at him and felt his heart skip a beat. He started having feelings for this oni and he didn't know what to do.

"So you had a date... I heard about it." he decided to bring up the topic to see Itto's reaction and opinion about it.

"Oh! Yeah!" the oni nodded repeatedly. "It was AMAZING!"

His eyes shot sparkles in joy as he thought back to Miss Hina. He grabbed Ushi and hugged him tightly as he spoke.

"She's just beautiful! Beyond perfect." he giggled like a little girl as he started swirling his hair playfully. "I can't believe I actually had a date with her. I wrote a letter to her immediately after I arrived. I hope she wants to repeat today just like I do!"

Gorou's face turned a bit pink as he stared at him surprisingly. So he wrote a letter to him instantly after arriving. How thoughtful...

"I see. I'm glad you had a great time with her. You deserve it." he smiled back at him kindly.

Itto just chuckled, then he suddenly let go of Ushi - who let out a painful 'moo' as he fell down - and grabbed an Onikabuto.

"Look what I've found on my way back!"

Gorou glanced at his hands, then back at him. He seemed very happy about it for some reason.

"A bug?" he questioned him in confusion which Itto didn't seem to like.

"NO! Not just any bug! It's an Onikabuto!" he shook his head firmly.

"You play with these?" Gorou thought out loud.

"Not just play! It's a very serious battle, alright? It's my favorite hobby besides hanging out with the gang. But we usually hold Onikabuto fight events too with my boys. Mamoru and Akira really enjoy the fights with me. As for Genta... nowadays he seemed more interested in what Shinobu was up to. Interesting."

"Wow. Sounds quite interesting!" Gorou nodded as he listened to the oni.

"It is! This bad boy will help me win many battles in the future. Almighty Arataki Extraordinary and Exhilarating Extreme Itto Junior for the win! Haha!"

"That's the... name?" Gorou scratched the back of his neck awkwardly.

"Yepp!" Itto nodded proudly.

"So who's going to remember this?"

"Me! Obviously." he rolled his eyes and placed down the Onikabuto. "It seems like you don't have a taste, General. Hmpfh."

And with that, Itto laid down onto his bed facing away from his friend. Ushi jumped up and cuddled to him quietly. Gorou frowned. It seemed like Itto didn't really like him at the moment. He probably said something which hurt his feelings. He let out a deep sigh and laid down as well facing away from him too. He had to think of what to do. He didn't want Itto to dislike him. Especially if he's Miss Hina. He had to do something.
