TW- graphic blood and self-harm
This feels familiar. Sitting in the ship all alone, waiting for Din to return. Last time, though, I just kind of sat in here the whole time. I probably should stay here, but I really don't want to.
I wait a few minutes to ensure that Din has walked sufficiently far away from the ship. He said to stay here, but he didn't tell me to stay inside the ship. I'm sure he wouldn't mind too much if I stayed around the ship outside...
I sit up and peer over the pilot's seat to look out the window. We're parked pretty far from the village, but there's no sign of Din. I guess he walks pretty quickly. I look around some more and notice there's almost nothing near the ship. It's like a charcoal gray desert out here.
I put my hands up and try to push open the hatch above me. It doesn't budge. If this thing can travel through space, I'm sure it's pretty air-tight, and I won't be able to just push it open. I know Din has a little button in his armor that can open this hatch, but I've never seen him open it any other way, but there has to be another button in here to open it, right?
I look around, but I don't see any buttons or switches or levers near the hatch that could be the correct one. The only buttons I see are on the dashboard, next to about a thousand other buttons. All of which, I have no idea what they do. I can't just press any random button on this thing.
I survey the dash. I still can't imagine how someone learns how to fly this thing with so many settings and dials and knobs. How does he know which is which? I'll never understand.
On the very left side of the dash, I spot one small gray button with a little etching of a door next to it. The button looks virtually untouched, compared to how worn most of the other buttons look. I mean, this must be it, right? What else could a picture of a door mean?
I push it.
The hatch hisses open. I was half expecting to be ejected from the cockpit, or something. Or maybe there's a secret door on the under side of the ship that drops out when you press it.
A hot, dry air rushes into the ship from the hatch. I had barely noticed it before, but it's very noticeable now. It also smells pretty bad. I think that smell is sulfur- that rotten sour garbage smell? Blegh.
I stand up in the ship and stick my head out into the atmosphere. Immediately the taste of dust takes over my mouth. The slight breeze picks up dust from the ground and hurls it into the air, presumably just to land in my mouth.
This planet sucks.
I hoist myself out of the ship and land with a thump on the ground as the hatch closes behind me. Thick black dust covers my newly washed boots instantly on impact. This has got to be one of the flattest, most boring looking planets in the galaxy. The town is directly ahead quite a ways, but other than that, there's absolutely nothing here.
I turn around to face the desert of nothing, and begin walking. There's probably nothing of note out there, but I won't know until I see it. I'm just curious.
A sweat works up on my forehead pretty quickly. Just a few steps in, and I'm already sweating like a bantha. It's very hot on this planet, but its a dry heat. It doesn't stick to your skin and suffocate you like it did on Teth. It just makes you sweaty and thirsty.
I walk and walk and walk until the ship is just a tiny spec in the distance. Much to my surprise, I've found even more black dusty sand! What a rare discovery.
With each step I take, it gets a little hotter. I'm not sure why, but I can steadily feel the temperature go up the farther out I go. I feel like I'm walking toward one of the suns.
