Today is sunny, with hardly any clouds. So much for the rainy forecasts. Oh well, it just makes my journey to that new café easier. A new study café opened up a few blocks from my apartment, the reviews online were all good and theres spots to use public gaming consoles.

"Sheesh it's way warmer than I expected. Good thing I wore a shirtsleeve shirt."

I pushed the door of the café open after admiring it for a second, there was an adorable picture of a cat resting on a violet pillow next to a white Ps5 controller. So cute!

The door made a nice "ding" sound upon my entrance, and a nice waitress served me almost immediately.

"Hello! Welcome to Consol Café, my name is Kie. How can I help ya?"

Her uniform was so bubbly and aesthetic; a violet maid uniform with white little cat outlines on the hem of the skirt, a small round white apron, and two violet hair pieces pulling her red locks into two high buns.

"I was just wondering if any of the console seats were open?"

The waitress clapped once with a charming smile before pointing to a curtained doorway, they matched the waitress's uniform. Now that I think about it, didn't the picture on the door also have violet on it?

"Right back there, however I must add that eating isn't allowed in the console room. Don't wanna get anything on the controllers!"

I looked back at the waitress and smiled before bowing. Before I could say anything else, the ding went off, signaling that someone else had walked in.

"Go right ahead into that room, I'll come check on you in a bit, and of course, in you need anything theres a customer service button next to the door."

That was all she said before going to service the person who walked in behind me. I glanced back and saw a tall hooded figure with fluffy blue hair, his face was covered but I could see his lips as he was talking to the waitress. So dry.

I brought my head forward and walked giddily into the console room, after pushing the light colored curtains away, I saw a room that looked like it was made for introverts. The walls were grey with ads for different games available and ones that were coming soon. On the floor laid three violet pillows that rested in front of a short desk.

The desk had 3 drawers, presumably full of games, with a space above the drawers that held several controllers, each for different console types. On top of the desk were 3 mini-TV's, beside each was a stack of consoles in a locked glass case; Xbox, Ps5, Nintendo Switch, and a Wii.

On the other side of the room was a tall desk with 3 tall chairs, the desk had 3 computer monitors, keyboards, and their own mouse with a custom mousepad.

I skipped over to the pillows on the floor and sat down with a thud. The pillows were extremely squishy.

"Alright, lets see what we have to work with."

After carefully examining the controller options in front of me, I decided to go with Ps5. They had a new game that I really wanted to try out, it wasn't exactly horror but I suppose it could fit under that category.

I hit the start button and my screen lit up with the Ps5 logo on it before opening up to the main screen. After scrolling around and searching it up, I finally found it. The game I was looking for; The Last of Us. The reviews of the game were awesome and after watching a few video's I really liked it and wanted to try it for myself.

I played the game for about 20 minutes with a set of my own headphones over one ear, wouldn't want to be rude if anyone called for me. This game was almost everything I had hoped it would be, causing me to get really zoned in— so zoned in that I didn't even notice when someone else entered the room and sat down next to me, starting their own game.

"...haha die stupid infected.."

A bad habit of mine was muttering when things were going my way, especially in competition. I try to avoid competitive games in public because I end up yelling at the top of my lungs— I'm not a poor sport but it's annoying when someone hits me in mario cart.

I continued to mutter in annoyance and irritation as I kept running into the same problem over and over. The game was amazing but aiming sucked.

"Could you shut up. I'm trying to focus."

His words caught me off guard, the mans voice was so rough and dry. Almost as if he hadn't had a sip of water in days. I glanced at the guy and muttered an apology before returning to my own game.

...

After about an hour more of playing my eyes hurt and my wrists were sore. I got out off the game and clicked save, but before I could do anything else the screen read "PLEASE INSERT PASSWORD" Curiously, I entered a random password and clicked enter. To my surprise a checkmark appeared on-screen with a sign that read "Thanks for locking! Now nobody can override your save 👍"

A silent chuckle escaped my lips as I set my controller back were I found it and stood up. My back cracked as I stretched, I suppose have awful sitting posture.

I walked out of the console room and rubbed my eyes, the lights inside the console room compared in the café were really dim.

"Hey there! Did you enjoy your stay?"

I opened my eyes to see the same waitress from almost two hours ago standing in front of me with a clipboard.

"Yeah everything worked great. I'll have to come by tomorrow."

The waitress handed me the clipboard and explained that I needed to fill out a form, just a small questionnaire and that I wouldn't need to fill it out every time, just once a month.

"Your stay lasted an hour and twenty two minutes, so that'll be ¥2781! Cash or card?"

Yeesh 2781 yen for an hour and twenty minutes? I thought before fishing my wallet out of my small handbag and handing the waitress the required amount. She thanked be and walked off to a register, leaving me to fill out the form.

1. How would you rate the internet connection and console quality?

2. Were you displeased with your stay? If so, please leave a description below.

3. If you noticed anything damaged, please list what was damaged below.

The form was very short and simple so I finished it in like one minute. After that the waitress came back with a receipt.

"Thanks for coming!"

I smiled warmly and thanked her for servicing me before leaving. Not wanting to get home just yet I decided to walk a round a bit, exploring random trinket shops and grabbing a quick bite to eat at a Takoyaki stand.

After about another hour of aimlessly wandering around, I decided it was time to go home, seeing as my wallet was now almost empty and I had two large bags full of funko pops and anime t-shirts.

As I walked home, I walked passed that guy from the café. How do I know? He had the same hoodie, hairstyle, and crusty lips. Although now I could see his eyes, they were a piercing blood-red color.

He must've noticed my gaze because he glared at me as we got closer together. I didn't know if he was dangerous or not yet, nor what his name was, so I smiled warmly at him, hoping to avoid conflict.

The man rolled his eyes as our shoulders brushed while we passed each other. His demeanor displayed that he was dangerous, but so far it looks like he's never done anything but glare harshly at others.

...

Little did I know this wouldn't be our last encounter.
