[N. Todoroki] Family Dinner Pt.2

"It's nice to finally meet you, Y/n." He said, holding out his hand. I shook his hand and said, "The pleasure is all mine, sir." I smiled and glanced at Natsuo for a moment, he had already begun eating. I sighed and put my hands together over my plate and began eating. There was an awkward tension in the room, mostly from Natsu and Shoto.

Fuyumi chipped in and said, "It's nice we can all eat together like this, Natsuo you should visit more often." Natsuo shrugged and said, "Eh, college get's pretty busy. I try to visit as often as possible but that's hard sometimes."

I could feel Endeavors gaze on me, like an examiner. I wore clothes similar to Fuyumi, not fancy but well dressed, good first impressions. Endeavor finally spoke, "So Y/n, what do you major in?" I took a sip of water and said, "I study Engineering, I figure I could land a job helping build support gear." Endeavor nodded and said, "I see."

I saw Natsuo get a grumpy look on his face. I continued eating then Natsuo said, "So, Shoto, how is school?" I had heard Shoto went to U.A. Makes sense, kid's got a powerful quirk. "It's going smoothly I'd say. I've made friends with all of my classmates." Fuyumi smiled wide and said, "That's good! It's nice to see you finally getting out of your shell."

After dinner was over I helped Fuyumi clean up. Once that was finished I sat next to Natsuo and Shoto on the couch, waiting for Fuyumi to come back. Endeavor sat across from us, and after what felt like forever he said, "So Y/n, what is your quirk? I'd like to be content knowing that my son will have strong offspring."

I looked over at Natsuo, sensing his anger. "I don't think that matters. I love Y/n for who they are, not for the sake of my future kids." He said sharply. I grabbed Natsuo's hand then looked back at Endeavor and said, "My quirk is called immune, basically I can't get an illness or injuries. And quirks don't work on me, for example if Shoto set me on fire the only thing that would burn is my clothes."

Endeavor nodded and said, "I see, that's one hell of a quirk. You can't be injured...Did you ever consider taking the hero course before high school and college?" I nodded and said, "Yes. But no hero courses would accept me because it's not flashy. So I just went with the second best option."

Natsuo's grip on my hand tightened and I looked at him. He looked annoyed but not ready to start an argument. I looked over at Shoto who was just deadpanned. "How big are you on family?" Endeavor asked. I looked at him then nervously said, "Ohh...well I mean, I don't want an army of kids. Maybe 2 or 3."

Endeavor nodded and said, "Thank you for coming tonight, I know Natsuo resents me and I understand how stubborn he can be." He looked at Natsuo, then back at me and continued, "You both should be getting back now, it's late. I wouldn't want to keep you from your studies."

Natsuo and I went to the door and got our shoes on, when I reached for my shoes Natsuo grabbed them and put my shoes on for me. "N-Natsuo I can do that myself—" I was cut off when he said, "I'm just showing that I can take care of you, I'll be good to you always." He looked up to me and said, "Even if that means doing every little task I can for you."

He stood up and I bowed to the Todoroki family and said, "Thank you for having me, I enjoyed my time here." I stood back up and went out the door with Natsuo. Before we could get off the property Endeavor said, "Y/n! Before you leave." I stopped and turned to him, he walked up to me and held out his hand. "Take care of Natsuo." I shook his hand and said, "I won't let you down sir." I smiled wide. Endeavor took his hand back and said, "Call me Enji. It'll be easier for occasions later on."

I nodded and left.
