Chapter 8 • The truth

Sonic walked down the hallway on his way to the rooftop garden, he was getting ready to meet Shadow and discuss what he meant in the note yesterday. He soon saw the garden that held other students on each side of the benches talking and some of them even taking a nap to try to make the most of the little amount of time of their break they did have. Looking away and trying to find an empty bench away from everyone, Sonic spotted one, it was near a window that connected to one of the classrooms inside which was empty due to it being break time, and on the side of the bench had separate flowers and plants growing by themselves while tiny sprinklers were planted inside so it could feed the flowers when it needs it. Sonic sat on the bench putting his legs on it and laying on the handle and waiting for a certain ebony hedgehog to show up before he had to go back to class. Sonic looked at his watch memorizing the time, while zoning out all the thoughts that were once clouded soon appeared in his head and kept him busy with him overthinking.

"Leave me alone, bat" Shadow spoke while trying to get away from the Bat's grip and go up to the roof not forgetting that he told the blue hedgehog to meet him up. "Where are you going that's so important you can't even come with us, hun?" Rouge spoke with a tint of sarcastic sadness in her tone. "Something you don't need or have to know" A green hedgehog with a black leather jacket walked into the conversation with a cigarette in his hand, and a lighter in his back pocket. "C'mon stripes, you can deal with whatever you gotta do later-" "Shut up Scourge" Shadow growled while backing up from the 2 and glaring them down. "I'm leaving, and don't even bother to try and follow me" A red and black trail was left leaving some people stunned and papers flying everywhere from the sudden gush of wind. "You still going to follow him, huh?" Rouge asked while turning toward Scourge, "That's what I do" another green trail was left down the hallway making more people aggravated from the sudden gushes of wind and glaring Rouge down. "Don't look at me" Rouge said while rolling her eyes and walking away to follow 2 certain hedgehogs.

A red and black trail faded away once it was on the rooftop, looking at his watch, Shadow groaned while realizing that he only had little time to talk to his 'friend' and tell him. While walking he got some glares from hatred and some people crushing on him but he never cared about them anyway, considering the fact that he was gay but nobody knew. A memory of the blue hedgehog appeared in his head once he saw him laying down in the sun, his quills shining from the sunlight and his emerald eyes glowing from the sun once he opened them.

Shadow was on his phone texting his friends and the groupchats he was in not caring about the lesson at all. That was until his ears perked up when he heard the teacher talk about a new student. 

"- Today we will be having a new student, he's new to this place so please be nice and maybe try to show him around.-" A knock was heard on the door and the teacher set her glasses on her head not needing them at the moment and answered "come in!" the door was opened revealing a blue hedgehog with emerald eyes and a curvy waist revealing his white and blue striped shoes. Everyone looked at him mesmerizing the new student before them before the teacher cleared her throat. "You must be the new student, Sonic right?" The female teacher asked while picking her paper up that had notes about the new male student in the room. "Yes, Ma'am," the azure hedgehog answered looking at the teacher and avoiding the gazes of anyone in the room. "Well, I'm Ms. Kat." The teacher, now known as Ms. Kat answered while placing her hand on her chest signaling to herself. "how about you introduced yourself to the rest of the class?" Sonic nodded while looking back to the others.
