That night, you couldn't sleep.

While you had gotten over the troubling events of today, you couldn't get over the feeling of being uncomfortably hot and stuffy.

Lately you've found yourself growing less and less tolerant of the high warmth in your greenhouse "room". Even if you tell yourself it's just you, in the back of your mind your mind that the lack of see air in the stuffy dome had an effect on you.

Finally after several minutes of tossing and turning on your plush mattress, grumbling to yourself indignantly you finally gave up and sat up on your damp mattress, itching at your gills which were irritated from the sweat build up. I'll never sleep under these conditions. You huffed and got up from your bed, stretching your arms over your head and flaring your wings out to get feeling back into them. I'm gonna need to tire myself out somehow.

You spared a glance at the clouded glass of the dome, hearing the muffled sounds of the ocean's waves outside. The sound was almost hypnotic. You found yourself starting to wonder when the last time you were actually in the sea.

As far as you remembered, even if he let you soak your feet, Steven didn't let you go out very far into the ocean. Not even to let you go under the water.

It was silly, but you only chalked it up to him worrying about losing sight of you. He was always worrying about losing you.

But the more you stared out the window, the more you found yourself jonesing for the coolness of the salt water on your skin and in your gills.

...just for some air.

You feel yourself slowly walk up to the mechanical door, you eyes flicking back and forth unconsciously as you slowly reached up and hovered your hand over the pink rhombus button. Taking a deep breath, you pressed the button and flinched at the loud hiss of the doors as they slid open. Cautiously, you stepped out into the night air, and your worries instantly dissipated as the cool breeze blew over your feverish skin. You shut your eyes, feeling a smile come to your face as you took in a deep breath of the sweet yet briny air. Gods how I've missed this...

You reopened your eyes, and looked out to the beautiful view of the ocean which was glistening in the silvery light of the full moon. You could swear you almost felt your pupils expand slightly just at the sight of it. It had always looked inviting, but there was something about this night in particular that made it look especially enticing.

You needed to get closer.

With a mighty bound, you leapt off the greenhouse's perch and flared your wings out, flapping them subtly to gain a suitable amount of air before gliding soundlessly over the beach house's roof and landing onto the soft sand just in a few feet front of it. You spare a glance back at the beach house, your heart racing as you scanned the windows for any movement, any signs that someone was watching. Not seeing anything, you quickly sprinted down the beach on all fours towards the ocean, your anticipation growing with each stride.

You finally came upto the shore, and stopped just at the shoreline.

You clicked softly in your throat as you watched the dark water roll up and down the shore, making those soothing, if a little hypnotic sounds.

It looked even more tempting up close.

Without thinking, you stepped forward, and shuddered at the cold, damp sand against your feet. The briny scent it gave off was almost intoxicating. the more you breathed, the more drawn towards the water you felt. The water rolling over your talons felt euphoric.

You felt yourself walking forward more and more, until you were waist deep in the water. Looking down at the water, there was a nagging part of you that said this would land you in deep trouble if Steven were to see this. He'd would have never let you get this far into the water. Part of you wanted to back out to avoid any turmoil, but the rapturous feeling of the water against your skin felt irresistible. You felt an overwhelming urge to go under. You suddenly didn't want to be on land a moment longer.

You looked back towards the beach house one final time.

...Steven's asleep. It'll be quick.

With that thought, you turned and slipped into the waves, disappearing into the black water.

~~~~~~[next morning]~~~~~~~~
Beep beep! Beep beep!
Steven was awoken to the light sound of his phone alarm going off. After blinking a few times to wake himself up, he reaches over and plucks his phone off the dresser to check his schedule for the day. "...time to make (Name) breakfast."
-----------------------
Still in his Pajamas, he walks down the stairs, thinking about what he'd make you. However, during mid-yawn, he caught the scent of something... fishy?
"What the...?"
His eyes barted around for a brief moment, before landing on a small figure near the front door.
If you're a sea creature, you're gonna want the sea.
Also, you'd think that if you're a mythos, especially one of the sea, you'd have a deep connection to the Ocean.
P.S. keep on the lookout for the reboot. Nearly done with the first half.
