Chapter 16: Confession

"This calls for a celebration!" Wei Wuxian hooked his arm around Jiang wanyin's shoulders.

The juniors cheered as they raised their cup of liquor in the air. All of them congratulated the former Sect heir on officially being the new Sect Leader.

"It's a good thing I brought our all time favorite Emperor's Smile. Hmm? Jiang Cheng, drink! Drink! For a healthy kidney!"

Jiang Wanyin smacks Wei Wuxian's head from the back. "Stupid! Alcohol ruins your kidney, not the other way around!"

"I'm just kidding. Of course I know that." The older rubbed his nape. "Come on, come on! Let's drink to our hearts content! We have plenty! The last one to drop dead gets to have a barrel of liquor. Hmm?"

Jiang Wanyin replied, "You're the only one who's gonna enjoy it."

"Eh? How so? Everyone loves alcohol! Look at them go. Drink more, drink more!" Wei Wuxian left his side and urged the juniors to drink.

"He is drunk." The Sect leader stated as he watched his brother laughing together with the others. "Oi! Wei Wuxian give me that!"

Jiang Yanli chuckled in amusement at her brothers before heading to her quarters to tuck her son in bed.

After a few hours, she came back only to see everyone except a certain man clad in black and red sleeping.

Even her husband is dead ass drunk!

"Shijie," Wei Wuxian blinked and squinted his eyes before rushing to her side. His long arms childishly wrapped around her legs.

"Jiang Cheng bullied me, saying that I'm old and I don't have a wife yet! Jiang Cheng has no right!" He cried, pouting at the female.

"I'm not old right?"

Jiang Yanli giggled. "How old are you A-Xian?"

"Xian Xian is three!" The said man beamed, lips curving to form a smile.

Then suddenly his smile turned into a sentimental one which spoke volumes. "But I don't need a wife..."

Jiang Yanli knelt down beside the man. A concerned look on her face became unnoticed.

"Shijie..." The female hummed in response.

"My heart is already tied to the person that is long gone."

She did not know how to react. She already had her suspicions but she didn't want to assume anything.

"Is it Lan-Er Gongzi?" Only by then when he brother nodded she realized that her assumptions were correct.

He regretted, he wailed, he mourned, he suffered, he missed.

She always knew that Lan has a room for his heart but she didn't know it was to this extent.

A romance between two men is not common as far as Jiang Yanli knows, however she wasn't keen to discriminate against other people just because they loved each other.

Though she can't say she was not surprised. Afterall, her brother just confessed that he loves someone for a long time.

At the same time she is worried. How cruel can the world be to let her brother kill the person he loves the most?

If only Jiang Yanli knew about this, she might have been able to take care of Wei Wuxian better after Lan Wangji's death.

"Shijie...why aren't you saying something?" She could hear him sulking through the fabric of her dress.

He was covering his face on her skirt to prevent her from seeing his face. "Are you disgusted?"

"Wha-"

Wei Wuxian suddenly raised his head to meet her in the eyes. "No right? Because I love him so much that I can't love another!"

Jiang Yanli patted his head and nodded, slightly humming in response to his question. "A-Xian can love whoever he wants."

"That means a lot, thank you." Wei Wuxian paused. Standing up on his two feet, slightly staggering, before helping his Shijie stand up.

Jiang Yanli let herself get dragged outside the room and to the patio.

Upon arriving there, Wei Wuxian happily blabbered for hours and all he talked about was a certain Lan.
